I decided to stay here overnight to make an early flight. Typically I like Red Roof Inn, and I did not expect anything great, but this was NOT good.
1. walked in and closed the door to see daylight outside...weird. The door is a bit messed up too; it is hard to lock...only got it to lock once, put my bag in front of the door overnight...
2. TV says no signal. Front desk said, "try unplug and reboot, see if that fixes it." To her credit, she did call back and offered to come up and try it. I opted out. I'm watching my lap top.
3. Got in the shower to find NO soap or shampoo in the wall dispensers. Used some "emergency soap" I had in my bag. NO shampoo...ugh....
4. Mopped up the floor I soaked, when I went to retrieve my soap, with the bathmat...filthy floors.
5. Comforter has a tear in it...just from being worn out.
6. Towels are low grade and small for bath towels.
I get it. good stuff costs money and this is a big place. Maybe it would be better to shut down some of the rooms and keep the quality up to par.
I don't feel like my expectations were too high. Why can't I turn on a TV and press guide to find a channel to watch? If the wall dispensers are to challenging to maintain, go back to the little soaps/shampoos. It should not be the responsibility of the front desk person to try to fix something that should already work. This feels like absentee ownership and they don't know what a mess the place is in. I'm in the service industry. You need to do better!
