As a female traveling solo I was a bit uneasy not knowing what to expect going to Tulum for the very first time. Once I arrived, all of my anxiety was gone. Management was very pleasant and helpful. The hotel is in a very good location, in walking distance to great restaurants, bars, the beach and other amenities. Although the water pressure in the shower was a bit low, the hot water, wifi and AC were never an issue as I've read in other reviews from other hotels. Which was really amazing being in the middle of the jungle. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. One thing I would recommend though, is the hotel updating it's name on this app. It was a little hard to find upon arrival looking for a "Laat Hotel" sign when on the outside of the building the hotel name actually reads "Homu".

First I spent one hour looking for the hotel as it is not called Laat hotel but Hun hotel. The entrance doesn’t look like a lobby either, it is just a random blue door without a sign. Once I found it I was greeted with an accusation: they’d been awaiting me one day prior! I had booked for said day but my flight got cancelled whereof I informed them immediately. The reply was: no problem. Next: I had booked a room with a terrace. After opening the curtains I found no terrace but a 1m deep muddy hole. Back to the reception. The answer: you booked a room on the groundfloor! Nope, I booked a room with a terrace. After some arguing they upgraded me to an upstairs room with a balcony. Though not without saying „but give us a good recommendation!!!“ The room itself was a nice maisonette. But the safe didn’t work. So I had to move AGAIN. In the next room, same maisonette, a dead cockroach was lying on the carpet - my whole 4 day stay (apart from that the whole facility was super clean), one set of shutters could not be opened and the mosquito net for the big window was missing. Plus the balcony door didn’t have a handle on the outside so you had to slide the door open with hopefully sticky hands. The pool was murky. Oh and if you’re not travelling solo you might want to know that the bathroom in the maisonettes is merely divided by a wall from the bed-head. No door. The idea of the place must have been gorgeous, but it has no soul. Except for Alfred, a receptionist.

I was bombarded and chased down several times by staff. I was told I had to pay extra when my friend came back to my room with me one night. Another day my two girlfriends came back to my room to wait for me to get dressed before heading out to dinner, I was again chased down and told I had to pay extra per person, that we weren’t allowed to take photos on the property. That if anyone wanted to take photos they would have to pay extra per person. When I came home after dinner the security guard was asleep in his chair. I’ve never had such a bizarre and harassing experience. I’m a very quiet clean and extremely respectful guest. I’ve worked in hospitality for 10 years. This was so unacceptable I would have changed hotels after the first night experience but I paid out of pocket up front. If I can be reimbursed for this please I would greatly appreciate it. I came here to have an enjoyable time, instead I had actual nightmares in my sleep that I was getting charged extra for little things and was constantly worrying to not upset the staff in any way. That is not normal.

The perks about this place is the location and the actual staff are very nice and hard-working. Otherwise, it is a shame that management and the hotel as a whole, does not match the efforts of the staff. The room was way too small for the cost. All there was in the room was the bathroom, a closet and 2 twin beds. On our second night there, we discovered a scorpion in our room. We were never offer any change in rooms after this incident so we the remaining nights there were more worrisome. And to top it off, the property is listed as family friendly with 1 child staying for free. However, after 4 days of being there and fully paying for the room - we were asked to pay an additional $200 for our child. We never received nor were offered an upgraded room to help with spacing and to justify where the $200 magically came about. We never received nor were offered extra bedding, extra towels or even breakfast for our child. We paid for our child each time we chose to have breakfast there and honestly, I had no problem with that part. But it is principle of asking for more money without any additional resources. After a lot of discussion, we left 1 day earlier to what we reserved and paid for and incurred a separate hotel fee since we ended spending our last night in a different hotel. Overall, it truly ruined our trip to Tulum. I have ALWAYS used expedia for my trips and this is the first time, I have been truly disappointed in a listing and a choice from the site.

Honestly I wish I could say it was a great stay but it wasn’t. Far from it. The hotel is in really bad condition. The power goes out several times a day and the Wi-Fi hardly ever works. The breakfast was bad and they were out of stuff all the time. The staff didn’t know anything and kept on giving us the wrong information. Also if you’re planing to visit tulum beach opt for a more expensive hotel with beach access because you’ll end up paying the difference in entrance fees to other hotels beach clubs. Hun claim that they have a collaboration with the hotel across the street but please note that that’s a lie. Alao that hotel is terrible so don’t go there. Its not worth it. All in all, I don’t recommend this hotel. Save your money and book something else.

Todo estuvo perfecto, José Miguel y Adri fueron siempre super serviciales, son increíbles personas siempre haciéndonos sentir super bienvenidos, en el hotel hay una mano espectacular y por ser nuestra luna de miel tuvieron el detalle de dejarnos subir y subirnos el desayuno, la cama y almohadas están deliciosas y la regadera del baño tiene una presión deliciosa, sin lugar a dudas nos volveríamos a quedar en HUN... por cierto tienen que probar en el desayuno el burrito de huevo!

The hotel is a joke and should not be on Expedia. It is unclean (and Expedia gives it a 4.8 on cleanliness, which is a bad joke and misrepresentation), and there was no one else at the hotel for a reason — loud generator and smelly and dirty. Please remove this hotel from Expedia.

Fantastic new hotel In perfect location
Fantastic new hotel in heart of beach zone. Best location ever as you are close to food market and beach clubs and shops. Stylish and cool decor but hotel still doing finishing touches as only opened a month ago. We had a great stay and they upgraded us too which was really kind and we ended up extending our stay. Best price to value ratio on Tulum beach right now. Highly recommended !

They keep it simple, it is not a luxurious hotel, but it is comfortable and pretty. They have an excellent location, just a few steps from bars, restaurants, and beaches. They also have private parking. I would come back.

Great location and service
Stayed here to attend a wedding. Location. The hotel is located at the jungle side but they have beach access about 2 or 3 minutes away with no minimum spend requirements. They provide towels and there was an individual a few meters from the entrance who grabbed taxis for us. The location was great because a lot of the restaurants and beach clubs were walking distance or within a few minutes by cab. Service. The staff were very responsive and helpful. We had a lot of random requests in preparation for the wedding. For example, some wedding pictures were taken here and they helped clean and prepare the areas for photoshoots, they enthusiastically provided champagne glasses, ironing boards, etc. Accommodation. The rooms were spacious, and they gave us a free upgrade. The lodging is definitely nice for the price, but do keep in mind that this is Tulum beach, so you won't have the same kind of clean feel as you would in Tulum city. I do want to note that heated water was sometimes only available upon request, but this may be because I showered during odd hours and the occupancy rate was a bit low when I was here. If you need a hot shower, you may need to request it about 5 minutes in advance. Overall, having been in Tulum several times, I found this property to have great value. I highly recommend for a budget conscious traveler who wants close access to the Tulum beach. Hope this review helped!

New hotel, great location
Brand new hotel in a great location. These guys opened just a few weeks ago and are still putting on all of the final touches. Very friendly and accomodating owners. Excellent off-street parking (very rare), secure, and clean. The hotel in not on the beach. They have an agreement with a property accross the street for beach access. This is quite convinient and the beach accomodations are great. Even though the rooms are pretty small, the hotel was a great base for exploring Tulum beach area.
