Lovely former palace in the old medina of Tunis with beautiful spacious rooms. Hotel is not by the road so it's a bit of a walk, slightly difficult to find as well if you do not have a GPS. Overall, great hotel and room with a great location walking distance to the medina and grand mosque in Tunis.

Une grosse déception
On m’attribue la chambre 12 du rdc, je remarque des restes de nourriture sur la table de chevet et en inspectant le lit des cheveux et poils ! Je demande des draps propres et je dois faire moi même le lit… On m’oblige à changer de chambre le lendemain car il y a une réception privée au rdc. Je n’ai jamais vu cela aucun respect vis à vis du client. Je commande du thé à la menthe. Il arrive non sucré mais surtout sans sucre ni cuillère. La fête bat son plein avec un orchestre live qui jouera jusqu’à minuit !!!! Impossible de dormir ni de se reposer. Je me réveille le matin fracassée avec un mal de tête alors que je suis partie en vacances pour me reposer. J’ai réservé le spa. La réception avance d’une heure sans me laisser le choix (encore une fois) ici le client n’est pas le roi et ne décide de rien !! La masseuse n’est pas discrète alors que c’est un lieu de calme elle fait un bruit assourdissant, se plaint de vertiges. Le comble c’est quand je lui demande une serviette propre elle refuse en expliquant qu’il n’y en a pas d’autres … Je ne suis même pas rhabillé qu’une femme de ménage s’introduit dans le spa pour nettoyer et nous déranger afin que nous partions au plus vite Je parle du problème à la réception on me répond que je suis restée 1h30 pour le forfait hammam, gommage, enveloppement et massage c’est donc normal. Elle me propose d’aller dans les wc du hall d’entrée Je suis choquée par autant de manque de considération, de respect Horrible expérience

Great Day , Kindly be aware that the guest had a bad experience in a previous hotel , they call us to sned someone to help her with her luggages witch is not our dutie and we accept and send a bell boy to the destination , problems began when the receptionnist told the guest that the bell boy said nasty word (according to her ) to the guest , wich is not true and we demand to the guset to go back immediately to check that what receptionnist was saying is wrong but she refuse ! All in all as PALAIS BAYREM HOTEL , the feed back of our guest are a witness that we are the leader in our zone

Anyone looking for a stylish and well-designed hotel will be disappointed here. But if you are looking for real oriental flair without sacrificing comfort, you will be delighted. The building transports you back to the year 1743. The hotel conveys Tunisian hospitality in its most original sense. It is truly a journey through time.

Beautiful historic building with very elegant and aesthetic decorations. The hammam is gorgeous- quiet, private, clean and so luxurious. One of the best experiences of my vacation. The staff were very kind, welcoming and accommodating. As a solo female traveller this was one of the hotels where I felt most comfortable.

Une seule nuit mais encore 1000 autres à venir
Resté juste une nuit pour affaires, jai été seduit et conquis par l'accueil et la beauté du lieu. Une visite guidée a fini de m'enchanter. Il y règne un calme tres serein. La gastronomie du restaurant est en accord parfait avec le lieu. La resrauration de ledifice a pris huit ans et il n'y a pas de faute de goût. La modernité est disponible et discrète. Un magnifique voyage dans le temps...a refaire

Il palazzo meraviglioso peccato che non fosse allo splendore ore corona virus le fontane spente il ristorante chiuso e io unico ospite .Il ragazzo del ricevimento faceva colazione e servizio informazione eccellente bravissimo . Da evitare se non si amano labirinti e vicoli hotel praticamente inaccessibile .

A very beautiful historic hotel with a perfect location in an old Medina. Very easy to walk to all areas. The restaurant is beautiful and the food is delicious. All employees were very helpful and courteous. The room was very spacious and decorated in French colonial style. The bathroom had a lovely clawed footed tub with hand held shower.

Absolutely gorgeous old palace in the Medina. We enjoyed th Hammam as well as our dinner in their restaurant. The breakfast was huge and super tasty. Staff was super helpful helping us with everything.

I was not impressed by the condition of rooms, bed was not comfy..mosquitos inside, smelly toilet .noisy air refresher. When i arrived the receptionist asked for cigaret! When dinning the waiter kept asking personal questions! It was not a pleasant stay at all. With a 110$ i could have had an amazing hotel somewhere else. Anyway, they need to invest more in educating their staff how to behave (the males mainly). Food was good btw in their resto.

Dear Mrs. Misada We have been extremely sorry to read your negative remarks and appreciations, which were so different from the satisfaction you expressed genuinely in front of our reception personnel (one male, one female) when you arrived. You choose Room N° 12 (25m2) with German art’deco authentic furniture, an original half-buried vaulted bathroom and a private patio (around 28m2). Obviously, nobody “asked for cigaret”, which would have been a most improper attitude vis-à-vis ladies-customers and, more than that, in a strictly non-smoking hotel. Our Maître-d’hôtel and Waiter are, as most local staff in this country, service-minded, polite and discreet persons, whom we know well. We receive quite often ladies from the Middle-East and Gulf-States, who are satisfied with their stay, as it seemed to us you personally were as well; as far as your she-friend is concerned, we do not know because Tunisian people are generally not caring about hotels for foreigners, yet they love this type of mansion. Thus, at the end of a full day of working-meetings and checkings, the whole of Palais-Bayram’s team regrettably share the opinion that the low rating and depreciatory comments were not necessarily coming from you, but may have been suggested to you.(27/11/2019)

Magnifique
Dans la Medina, c'est hôtel a vraiment du charme: les parties communes sont magnifiques, la chambre spacieuse et très bien décorée. Tout le personnel a été très accueillant. Nous avons aussi beaucoup apprécié l’ hammam avec les oins/massages. C'était un séjour très agréable dans un palais hors du temps.

The hotel is located in old city town and old fashion. And it was not easy to find out the hotel with google map. It's like a maze.

Attention to cultural authenticity with modern amenities such as washroom. Right in the Medina. Excellent restaurant on premises serving authentic Tunisian food. Dining room is spectacular cave like ambiance. Staff were very hospitable and helpful.

Le palais Bayram, à l’architecture orientale, digne des contes des mille et une nuits, où je rêve d’être shehérazade racontant l’une de mésaventures d’ici et d’ailleurs à mon amour éternel de Sidi Bou Said 😉, que j’espère revoir lors de mon prochain séjour. Personnel de qualité (à l'exception d'un veilleur de nuit et du maître d'hôtel actuel), en particulier le serveur en restauration et Raïs assurant à merveille la sécurité de la clientèle. Femmes de ménage répondant toujours avec un sourire respectueux. Chicha préparée dans les règles de l’art. Soins de hamam assurées avec professionnalisme et discrétion par Dalila Ruelles non sécurisées autour du palais et qui devraient l'être en installant des caméras de surveillance. Enfin, les deux propriétaires de cette établissement sont d’une rare élégance et d’une exceptionnelle culture.

Never-ever again!
I travel a lot, for work and for fun. But this was one of the worst experiences! So, lets start with location. Yes, it is in the middle of Medina of Tunis, but I wasn't expecting it to be so dirty. To say dirty is to say nothing! Room. Blue room, not really cheap, nice colour, nice size. No more remarks with adjective "nice". Big bathroom, but so useless. No shower, no space to place your towel, no any shelves for your toilet bag of so. First thing I did in the room - tried to open the second window. It was my mistake - behind the window I found 2.5-3m high mountain of stinky rubbish! Empty restaurant with an average food. SPA - another dirty place. I didn't dare to enter the pool - water was grey and greasy. I don't want even talk about massage, etc...

Everything was great! The stuff was very friendly and accommodating. The service was amazing! The location of the hotel is very central. The rooms were clean. Overall, I had a proper 5 start hotel service. I totally recommend it!

I didn’t like my first room. It was dark, not very nice, it seemed very dreary. The water pressure wasn’t good ether. After two nights there they moved me to another room which was much nicer. However the one thing that I found to be very unfortunate is that they charged me for a breakfast daily. I couldn’t pull up my reservation when I arrived so I asked the front desk person if breakfast was included in my rate as I didn’t remember (I always ask just to confirm) and he said it was. He even told me the times. However when I went to check out there was a charge for breakfast there for my entire stay which was very wrong - I try to explain to the woman in the front that he gave me false information but they did not want to help or accommodate in anyway. I didn’t even eat a full breakfast every day, the first day I only had a coffee and a croissant because I didn’t have time to eat. had I known that this was going to be the case I would’ve gotten a much better breakfast in the Medina and paid half the price. I have no problem paying for services rendered but when the hotel gives you false information I find this to be very misleading. And then does not accommodate when you try to explain. As a gold VIP member, I expected more.

The hotel is nice and the tiling of the walls is excellent. It is in the Medina so parking is your own scramble and a few blocks away. The setting for dinner is architecturally spectacular with good live music, but the food was not so great.

A car or taxi cannot get there! Need to carry lugg
Although my time here was short, I have a few things I think would benefit the future traveler. 1. U cannot get to that place by car, the streets are very narrow as it is inside an ancient Medina and the streets are cobble stone. The hotel did not have a dolly or luggage transport and we hadn’t to haul our many bags in. 2. Our room we booked with the one with the golden beds, 2 queen beds, and they tried to pull a fast one saying no we booked the regular room. So after going into the regular room which smelled of mildew to the point you were choking we showed them our email of the confirmation of our upgraded rooms. We also had to haul our luggage up the stairs no elevators and few staff. 3. Food is EXPENSIVE and not tastey or fresh. We came in the morning and they had dishes sitting out all night. 4. Our upgraded room was dirty there was a bath robe belt on a chair which led me to believe that the room was not properly cleaned. We arrived late and we just wanted to rest. 5. Staff is helpful and speaks English although I have stayed at other resorts in Tunis I would suggest four seasons as the price is similar but quality is completely different . I guess 5 stars I. A third world country is suspect 6. Great lighting for photographs etc but those photos posted on website are misleading as the rooms are not as spacious or comfortable as they seem

Once in a lifetime...
A beautiful period property, with Italian touches, and marble bathroom fittings. I had the grand suite, with every intricate detail catered for - barber rugs, opulent bedding and restored fixtures and fittings. A most delightful stay.

Unique experience, A converted palace, each room is different, Authentic decoration and furniture, VERY FRIENDLY STAFF. In the heart of the old town, need to walk 5 minutes to and from the hotel to the main streets.
