We spent our Thanksgiving week at the cabin which turned out to coincide with a massive snowstorm. Got 18" of snow Tuesday night and light snow continuously after that -- haven't seen snow like this since we left Wisconsin. We didn't even try to venture out until Friday and had a wonderful time playing in the snow, playing Foosball, board games, reading, etc. The piano was a nice surprise, and I got a chance to brush up on some tunes I hadn't played in forever.
There was a power outage for a few hours, and it was cold outside, but luckily the fireplace thermostat is battery-powered, so we were able to keep the inner cabin nice and toasty anyway.
The kitchen is all updated, and was nice to cook in. Plenty of dishes, cookware, extra dry goods, etc. We made pancakes and eggs for breakfast and some Thanksgiving dishes too.
The place is much, much bigger than you'd expect at first glance. It was plenty of space for us, even while cooped up waiting out a snowstorm. We had a great time and would definitely do it again!
