We appreciate and thank you for your very kind review and we’re glad to know you enjoyed your vacation. Unfortunately however, we were extremely disappointed with how you used and then left the cabin. We state quite clearly our expectations for our guests. This is our family cabin, and as such we expect guests to treat it as if they were our personal guests. This means not leaving garbage or utensils in the back yard. We expect guests to respect our “rules” such as no smoking in or on the premises. We expect guests to leave the cabin needing a hygienic cleaning, but not a 2 day cleaning event including the careful removing of melted wax from the hardwood floor. We’ve specifically asked guests to feel free to use our things, but to put them back where they go. (Bicycle pumps do not get stored in the dining room.) Quite bluntly, we were shocked and saddened by your blatant disrespect, abuse (pictures are available to verify), and will not be able to rent to you in the future.

We take great pride in providing an exceptional experience and environment for guests. This guest was the one no one wants to get. Her review is an aberration from the 5-star reviews that we’ve universally received prior to her rental. It is without merit. The futon was greatly stained, the carpet by it had stains, the stove-top was filthy, and damp sheets with urine were left on the carpet in the loft. We saw the photos provided by our property mgr taken right after guests left. I informed Ms Nikfal immediately about all of this. After extra work was done, the stove-top and carpets were cleaned. Cleaning didn’t fully restore the futon. Leaving wet sheets on carpet was thoughtless. The key issues here are: • Guest allowed kids to drink or eat in the sunroom (against cabin rules agreed to in contract). • Guest created and left a mess in multiple areas and didn’t inform us of the problems. (Guests agree to communicate in contract). • Guests agree to care for and leave cabin in good condition needing only a light cleaning. (The cleaning fee isn’t license to abuse the cabin.) • Guest is in denial and vindictive. (Fortunately, all previous guests have unanimously reported a positive rental experience in our cabin.) We have no interest in collecting anyone’s security deposit. We used it to pay for needed kitchen, steam, and carpet cleaning. The poor review that we gave Ms Nikfal was unfortunately earned. We still have a damaged futon that may need to be replaced. No one who values their property will rent to her. We regret that we did.

Andrew, We’re thrilled that your family had such a good time while hunkering down through the snowstorm. Our family arrived the day after you left - and we also thoroughly enjoyed the snow.
