Hi there Thank you for taking the time to leave us this review. I am happy you found your room clean and comfortable. I appreciate your feedback on the condition of the property. We are constantly doing updates and renovations between both our properties. The siding is something on our list and something we are working on. Please don't ever hesitate to let our office staff no of any issues and concerns you may have during your stay. The BBQ's are cleaned daily by our housekeeping staff however being a communal BBQ shared amongst all Whale's Tail Guest It can get dirty fast. So please reach out to office and they will send someone over to clean it during housekeeping hours. I am once again sorry you didn't have the best stay. I hope if you find yourself back in Ucluelet that you will give us another try. Safe travels.

Hello Thank you for leaving us a review. I appreciate your feedback about your stay. All the door have dead bolts on the doors but they do auto unlock from the inside. Thank you for bring this to our attention so we can look into alternative inside locks. I would like to apologize for the inconvenience of the location of our fitness centre. The Whales Tail property is our sister property one block over from main building West Coast Motel & West Coast Fitness Centre. The Fitness Centre is open from 9am to 8pm with access through the main office but if you wish for an earlier access a key fob can be provided. I am happy you found the bed comfy but sorry that was not the case with the sofa bed. I appreciate this information and will look into having that fixed. Hello ElizabethThank you for the feedback about your stay. I am glad you were able to take advantage of the crab stack to process and pack your fish. I would like to extend my apologies again for the issues that seem to come about during your stay with your room. We have had the outside of the building pressure washed as we do regularly but unfortunately it doesn't last long out here on the west coast with the salty ocean air and strong wind. The BBQ station there must have been moved by another guest as it should not have been near your balcony. The light by the microwave does have a tricky to locate light switch which i believe might have been the case during your stay. I will apologise that since covid we do not leave place mats in the rooms anymore. However your room should of had mixing bowl located in the tall cupboard beside the stove. I appreciate you advising us on the issue with the outlets . If you were needing the place mats and or additional items we could have delivered them to your room for you. I would like to thank you again for bringing these issues to our attention and wish we could have rectified all during your stay. This is not our normal standards and we would love for you to give us another chance in the future if you are visiting our wonderful west coast.

Hi Nolan, I do apologies that you felt like you had to plead for help with your reservation. We do our best to help in any situation. When you book through a 3rd party it does make it more challenging especially since Expedia is who holds your funds. Which is why we have to refer you to contact the original form of booking. I do understand how frustrating it would be but highly recommending booking direct with the accommodations so we are able to deal with your reservation immediately. I would like to also apologize that you did not get to experience a renovated room as we have renovated and are continually renovating. The Whales Tail Guest Suites is our sister property located one block away from the main property The West Coast Motel where the office is located. Our office does closed at 8pm daily but there is always a phone number of an on call emergency person posted on the door. I really appreciate the time you took to leave this review as we always appreciate the feedback. I hope you have save travels.
