The real Florida.... front porch sit-in' - bring a book ! Sidewalks to walk the dogs...must drive to Eustis (5 miles) for restaurants and shopping - the Mexican Restaurant with outside seating is great; the the BackFin on lake Eustis is great..

Great area, nice cottage
I and my sister and her husband, all seniors, stayed for the full month of February. There were lots of positives: great master, comfortable beds, safe and friendly neighborhood, charming decor, great sitting porch and great host. Fun things to do in the area in every direction. We had a few issues that may or may not be a problem for others. The smaller bedroom room had two beds, a single and a full, not a queen, and no bureau. Could not hang adult cloths in the closet due to a shelf in the middle. I used the bed to lay out cloths and lived out of the suitcase for a month. If you had to use both beds I am not sure where the suitcases would go. Also noise and conversation between the master bath and the small bedroom flowed freely. Good and bad. My dog loved the fenced yard- one of my main reasons for booking. But my sisters smaller dogs could escape between the boards so they had to be leashed. ( Dog park close by came in handy.) In summary the good points won and I would not hesitate to book again but probably for a shorter stay.

Cute cottage loved our stay!
It was a very cute cottage! Nicely decorated and loved the chalk board greeting. Beds were comfy. Will definitely stay again next year for the Mt. Dora antique festival. The only issue was the second bedroom connected to the master bathroom was a little weird but we loved our stay. Very clean and inviting! Thank you for sharing your cottage 💕

Great Experience with the Cottage
We spent 3 weeks here on business and I must say that everything was excellent. The location of the cottage is quite nearby to our destination. Having two rooms, two bathrooms, kitchen and living room such a perfect space for me and colleague. We are pleased of this house, neat and peaceful neighborhood. The host is incredibly awesome to communicate with. This place is highly recommended.

Perfect weekend
The cottage was perfect for myself and granddaughters enjoying the Ren Fest and local shopping. We enjoyed the front porch and the kids loved the spacious yard. Checkin process easy. Cottage as pictured. Clean and nicely decorated. Comfy queen bed. Umatilla is quiet country feel, yet close enough to Eustis and Mount Dora. Walking distance to a cute park and fantastic coffee shop. Host was very pleasant and communicative.

Wonderful Service
Maribel really goes above and beyond. First off she does such a great job cleaning. I could eat off the floor there! She was so sweet and helpful when we drive from NC to FL with our family to stay for the weekend for a dog event my husband was competing in. She left us wine, a nice note, some snacks and really paid attention to detail in the home. There were wash rags, a lot of towels, blankets, soap, shampoo, conditioner. She messaged us to see how our first night went and if we needed anything which was so thoughtful. Her rate is very reasonable too and her is very open with her pet policy. Most people charge an arm and a leg and have a lot of rules for size of pet but she is so flexible, you just have to talk to her. She sends you things to do and places to eat in the area. There’s a nice park in walking distance if you have kids too, among other things. I would totally stay here again!

Perfectly Lovely!
Located far from the hubbub of big towns, noise and Micky, in a small village neighborhood with no traffic or noise. The home is sparkly clean and very comfortable with a king in one bedroom (with it's own bathroom) and what looks like a double or queen and a single in the other bedroom. Stocked with stuff you need but haven't had time yet to get to the store yet, like coffee, sugar, salt, oil, papar towels, soap and the like. Linens and towels were great. Big back yard for kids to run off some energy, nice glass chess board on the porch for the adults to kick back with. Just a real nice home. Now, why Umatilla?? For us, it was to visit different springs. We visited Kelly State Park. You must do this. Just before you enter the park stop and rent an innertube to float. DO NOT BLOW THIS OFF. So much fun, easy, safe and delightful. Even babys sitting in parents laps in a tube, and all sorts of youngsters and oldsters enjoying. Also swam at Alexander Recreational area and Wekiwa State Park. We also canoed and paddleboarded at Silver Springs Park . We also drove some of the dirt roads in the Ocola National Forest, Swam with Manatee in Crystal River (one even reached out and kissed my grandaughter!) and we swam in the Gulf and in the Atlantic. This VRBO is an excellent base from which to do all this and probably more...but we ran out of time. Loved it.

Cutest, Cozy Cottage
This was the cutest little cottage. It was very clean and it was decorated very cute, while still keeping it vintage. The hostess was the BEST! She was very responsive to all my questions. She provided a lot of little things for our stay like, coffee, tea, water, and wood for the fire pit. We enjoyed sitting around the fire pit every night during our stay. She also provided some good recommendations to visit and eat. I would definitely stay again. :)

Great Cottage
This property was convenient to my family's home in Umatilla, and was clean, neat and in a quiet neighborhood. The bed was very comfortable and the decor was nice. There was a safety concern we had, though. There wasn't a handrail for climbing the steps to the porch. Maybe this could be addressed in the future.

Wonderful spot
I absolutely adored this cottage. It was clean, cozy, and quiet. The host left extra touches around the cottage to make us feel welcomed. My husband, dog, and I loved the area and enjoyed our stay. Quaint and a great location!
We needed a safe and comfortable spot with two or more beds and welcoming of our dog in the area and this fit the bill. The home was decorated in a fun way and had most of what you’d need for a short or long stay. Enjoyed listening to Friday’s football game down the street while playing chess on the porch. A quick walk down the street led to an awesome park with wood carvings that us adults enjoyed. Great non-congested area to stay if visiting Eustis or nearby areas.

Enjoyed the eclectic wall decor, positive, funny & uplifting phrases. Very clean, comfortable bedding. Plenty of porch seating, grill and firepit. Cool enough to have our first fire of the season. Minutes to Mt. Dora & Eustis. The lakeside scenery, a must see. Host, Maribel, was easy to communicate with. A nice getaway in a quiet family neighborhood. Absolutely no complaints staying here. Cute Bungalow in a small town FL neighborhood
Communication with owner was excellent. The house was an "old style FL cracker house" most likely from the 1920"s with heartwood pine floors, nice front porch, huge original soaker tub, and pet friendly. There is a a fire ring in the yard and the owner left chocolates and a bottle of wine for our anniversary. Very thoughtful. Umatilla is definately small town America !

Adorable Rustic Modern Cottage
This adorable rustic modern cottage is the place to stay. The cottage is cute, clean, spacious and inviting. The cottage looks small from the outside but there is plenty of room throughout. The house has just the right amount of light and is cheerful. When we walked up the light was on in case, we arrived late. There is a large porch that wraps around to the side with several chairs and rocking chairs. The table has a chess set on it. Nice touch. We walked in and it was cool inside and oh, how cute! I can't say enough about the décor and the artistic detail. The floors were superb. The bedrooms are separate which is a great feature (the beds were very comfortable). The kitchen and bathrooms have just what you need. There's also a large tv with a futon in the living room. I felt like I was staying in a northern cottage. There is plenty of yard space if you have children. The neighborhood is quiet with friendly locals. A few tips on where we went around the surrounding area: 3 miles North on Route 19: Laura's Sweet and Spicy Emporium (in Altoona) is a cute shop to buy honey, hot sauce, soaps and pickled items, etc. Right across the street in the Sunoco parking lot (closed on Sundays) is Taqueria Rio Verde Food Truck. Not to be missed if you like authentic Mexican food. We had the best steak burrito. 3 miles southeast (of the food truck) is Sunsational Farms. It's across from a new community park. They have a country gift shop and they serve soft ice cream and shaved ice. They have a nice seating area with rocking chairs and tables and a play area for kids. South on 19: Stop in Ray Warren Honey (it’s a small building on the west side) on your way to Mount Dora and pick up a 5-pound glass jar of honey for $30! Continue 10 miles south to Renninger's Flea Market and Antiques (Mount Dora) if you like to browse at all kinds of things. 2 miles into town try Tony's Clam Chowder Seafood Restaurant by Donnelly Park in Mount Dora. The place is cute, clean and the food is very good. Park and walk down the street to the shops. Explore the surrounding towns (area) like we did. I use the map to explore the area and find places. The locals weren't on on a map or a computer/cell phone when their family businesses started. Let's keep them on the map by supporting them and keeping them in business! Gorgeous location
This is a sweet little cottage but truly, only adequate for two adults. Interior seating area is quite limited and the space is open directly to the kitchen divided by a dining table that seats four. We loved having early morning coffee on the porch; with the fenced in yard my dog was engaged in watching the community of kitties living in the field across the street. There are any number of gorgeous parks and places to walk. The town of Mt Dora is fun if a little touristy. The cottage itself was immaculate and adequately equipped for making coffee and casual meals. Mari, the owner/manager, was exceptionally kind and helpful

Family Fun in Florida
Love the cottage and the decor. Felt safe in the neighborhood. Enjoyed evening walks with the dog. Beautiful neighborhood park with carved wooden sculptors. HIghly recommend this property to anybody.

I can’t begin to explain how amazing Maribel is, and the stay! my boyfriend and i wanted a peaceful getaway from the city, and i believe we chose the perfect place. it was clean, homey, and just perfect for what we needed. Maribel made the check in process smooth and easy. She is such a kind and genuine host. We had so much fun visiting the farms and other local things to do on the area. Nice quiet neighborhood traffic was a minimum. Great little gayer bar half mile walk. Mari was very attentive and easy to get ahold of her when needed! Best host I’ve had ever!

Warm, welcoming and conveniently located!
