Fun family vacation conveniently close to Starved Rock! Host was really easy to communicate with and even replaced the coffee maker during our stay! We cooked all of our meals in the kitchen so it definitely had the tools we needed. Games were so fun for the whole family! Master bedroom has very comfortable king size bed and 2 queen air mattresses in the closet. 2nd bedroom has 2 beds (fits 4 people). Our kids loved the fireplaces! Nice big kitchen!!

It was the perfect spot for my daughter‘s birthday party. They loved the arcade games and air hockey, etc.. plenty of room to cook, and do crafts. We all had a really nice time!

The kitchen has basically nothing beyond cups and silverware. No supplies otherwise. So be advised.The water is well water so it's discolored and smells. Check the dishwasher if you want to know what I mean.How this place would sleep 12 is beyond me. It's got three beds total, comfortable to be sure, but I don't count a provided air mattress as a bed.Be aware, just because you're staying within the resort, the water park has zero obligation to let you get a day pass to utilize it. They now only allow for you to get day passes if you're not staying at the hotel, on Thursdays.Anyway, it was warm and comfortable with the kids enjoying the games. TV worked and we could watch movies.

Overall very good, electronics were a little dated/difficult to navigate, but it had everything we needed, very spacious even though the cabin was split into different units. Still had a nice cabin in the woods/secluded feeling. Easy in and out.

Did not talk to the host. Sent a polite email. The cabin was cute with some nice machines for play. But the bed situation was not as advertised on the front pages of site. Advertised room 1 with king and queen (no queen there) and room 2 with 3 queens (only 2 were there). There were 2 air mattresses which is not a bed but 1 had a hole in it. Down stairs it advertised a futon. No futon, just a very uncomfortable couch. Had an air mattress but not the same as a bed. Short towels, no kitchen towels or pans. Coffee maker did not work. Bottom of oven had drippings on it. We had to clean. Fan over table did not turn on. Short forks. No ice maker or trays. We still had a good time but these issues but a damper on the experience. The cabin was very nice,easy to get to and a nice location. My sisters and I had a very nice time. however we had a few disappointmesnts.1- there were no towles in kitchen and not enough bath towles for 8 people. We went out and brought some. the coffee pot was not working good. It took to long to brew. i brought another one. 2-only 1 air mattress would hold the air all night. 3-there was no instructions on how to work the TV. When i called you about it, you said you would try to get someone out to help us and would call me if you got someone. you never called. I went to the cabin next to ours and a nice gentlemen helped us. My sister slipped getting out of the shower. There was not bathmat for the tube or to put on the floor. That would have been helpful. Also a grab bar on the shower would be good. Other than these things the stay was nice.

The property does not sleep 13 as stated. We were a party of 8 adults and could not sleep comfortably. The couch does not pull out. Air mattresses that are available do not hold air. The one we did get to hold air was flat by morning. I will take some of the blame for the cleanliness. Our event ended early, so we asked if you could get in. 30 minutes early. We were told that as soon as housekeeping was done, we could get in.Got in 10 minutes before the scheduled time. But I don't think the extra ten minutes would have made a difference. Cobwebs in the bathroom and light fixture over the table. Several basics that I expect in a rental were not there, like dish soap; it is hard to wash dishes without soap.

Starved Rock Getaway

The cabin was very nice and clean. I am not sure the description was correct about housing 13 people? There was only 2 queen air mattresses and one twin/ full which did have a leak and needs replaced. FYI for the owner of the property. Also for the number of occupants there was not enough bath towels. But overall the property was very nice and a good place for a family to enjoy for a starved Rick getaway.

Overall, this was a nice place to stay. My kids really enjoyed the air hockey and retro video games. Another plus is that this inside a resort and minutes from starved rock entrance. There are 3 actual beds and two air mattresses. This worked fine for our family but I’m not sure that is clear on the listing. Main complaint is that the sofa is not comfortable and could use replacing. The host was responsive and made check in easy. I would recommend this place and would stay there again.

Fine for a night

Host was responsive and friendly. Townhome was rustic cute and fine for a night but with many small issues that added up.No screens on most windows or sliding doors & dining ceiling fan didn't work so we couldn't air the slight stink out. Main level window is missing its lock. Couch is extremely uncomfortable with springs pushing up each cushion. King bed sheets had several stains, I hope they weren't actually dirty but there were dirty footprints on lower bathroom floor so cleanliness was questionable. Worn carpets and paint, poor/harsh lighting throughout, flat pillows, iron water, slow sink drain, no outdoor chairs as shown in photos. No shampoo/conditioner/salt/pepper/basics provided like most rentals do. Door code stopped working so we had to wait outside until host could let us in a couple times. Townhome is part of a resort and the road is full of large potholes - this is a resort issue but makes the drive in/out a little annoying.Games were fun and unique, but no lighting above air hockey made it hard to play at night.Great location near Starved Rock state park but it's not very walkable from the townhome because most of the park is another 1-2 miles in from the road. Still a good location for driving to state parks and to a couple really cute historic towns on the river. A good choice if you're looking for a semi-rustic cabin feel in a nice area.
