Escape from the city come to this villa ideal for relaxation close to nature, Jacuzzi. Two fireplaces. Internet access and WI FI . Illinois and Vermillion river only minutes away. The perfect place for your getaway and unforgettable experience ! Only minutes walking from hiking trails .
Villa is located inside Grand Bear Resort complex. However, WE ARE PRIVATELY OWNED. WE DON'T HAVE A CONECTION OF ANY KIND WITH GRAND BEAR LODGE AND OR GRIZZLY JACK'S RESORT. WATER PARK PASSES ARE NOT INCLUDED
Rustic log style furnishings. The generous 1,800 square foot Villa sleeps 8 with 2 bedrooms, 2 bath, comforting fireplaces, televisions, a patio, 2 balconies, washer/dryer, kitchen & dining area.


The kitchen is complete with all major appliances dishwasher, microwave, coffee pot, single cup coffee maker, toaster, dinnerware, eating utensils and basic cookware. To maximize your rental experience please consider bringing any special items you may need. There is a 24 hr convince store located inside the resort lobby, should you forget something.


-The Master bedroom features a king-size bed, pull out twin sofa sleeper, fireplace, TV, private vanity and whirl pool tub.
-The Second bedroom features 2 queen size beds, TV and balcony.
-Folding bed available first floor.
-Free WIFI access
-Special rates when booking 7 nights or more.

House keeping services are not provided for stays shorter then 7 nights. Guests are encouraged to take advantage of the full size washer and dryer to launder the existing towels and linens for a fresh supply.

*Villa toiletries (paper towels, toilet paper) will be provided but are based on the amount of people/duration of your stay.
Should you feel more is needed while on your stay please feel free to visit the General Store located inside GrandBear Resort.

*This Vacation Villa is privately owned and the use of some resort amenities (i.e. WATER PARK, mini golf) IS NOT INCLUDED WITH THE RENTAL. Tickets must be purchased separately. And you have to call Grand Bear Lodge in advance to check for availability.

We had a nice stay in Starved Rock. The condo was nice and large, but the kitchen was lacking some basic utensils, which we actually bought and left there. I did appreciate the extra fan in the master bedroom. We had no trouble getting into the condo and there was only 1 other unit being used during the week. On the weekend, it became more crowded, but not bad at all. We did see wildlife around the condo, too. All in all, we will stay there again if we ever make it back to Starved Rock.

Great place for our family! Very cute place, quite spacious. The unit is at the end of the parking lot and backs up to a lovely brushy area and then a pond. Birds, rabbits and other wildlife were abundant. Otherwise it was fairly quiet.

I totally love our stay at this cabin !! It was better than what pictures show , feels right at home and has everything you could possibly need , very comfortable , spacious and clean . Also a very convenient location . The communication with Martin was great he is very attentive and helpful. Thank you so much for being an awesome host !!

The villa is spacious, clean, comfortable, and has everything you need for cooking, eating, and entertainment. The beds were comfy and the villa was situated in a quiet corner of the resort next to the woods. Had a raccoon appear at the patio door the first night; guessing that previous guests may have given it a handout. The resort is practically adjacent to Starved Rock State Park, which allowed us to hike in the early morning and get back to the villa for breakfast, then head out again. When it was too hot to hike, we played some mini golf, which is in a shady location at the resort. Great kayak rental on the opposite side of the river within a 10-minute drive. Beautiful paddle upstream along the limestone bluffs. Highly recommend this rental.

Spent most of my time on the back deck listening to the crestures. And all the lightning bugs were awesome. If in this area again id want the same unit. But my son hit a deer but pried the sidewall from hos tire so he could drive the 4hrs back. We all made it safe.

Property is clean and located close to many things to do in the area. We spent a day at the waterpark in Grand Bear Resort, went to Cedar Creek Ranch for a horse ride, and did a hike at Matthiessen State Park. Will definitely come back again.

Conveniently located to the State Parks in the area. You can cross the street to view the St Louis Canyon and hike the Starved Rock State Park trails. Matthiessen State Park is a short drive away. The rental is very clean, and has plenty of space. Plenty of TV's and fireplaces to recharge after a long day of hiking.

The unit is very spacious. Both bedrooms have balconies and there is a deck downstairs that looks on a small creek. Enjoyed the wildlife. Utica and Ottawa, the two closest cities, are quaint and nice places for dining. We didn't use the waterpark but what fun that would be for little ones.Martin is extremely quick to respond.

Stayed over a weekend with my sister and parents to come and relax. Also brought our senior dog along. The house is very nice and cozy. The fireplaces are lovely. Overall the home was very clean, well kept and to me it looked even better in person than it did in the pictures online. My parents loved it and they are planning on coming back hopefully over the summer. We loved that is so close to trails, we were able to walk to St. Louis canyon from the home. Also, thank you to Martin for always being available to answer our questions quickly. Definitely recommend the place.
