'This was a special place! One of the first hotels in Vail, it oozes charm and history with lots of memorabilia throughout of its dashing owner Pepi, once a world class skier. Just steps from the gondola, we stayed at a riverfront room and enjoyed our continental breakfast each day as well as perfect access to Vail’s shops. We met Pepi’s (deceased 2019) equally impressive and warm wife Sheika, who was co-founder and still hands on day - since its founding in 1964. Bonus: the Austrian hotel...
