Nice place
Very nice place to stay. Hosts are very kind and bake-good were made and left for us during the stay. The place is the bottom floor of the hosts house, and you can hear the hosts walking around upstairs (but it wasn’t super loud). The only thing I wish they had were curtains for the windows. In the spring and summer in Alaska the sun is up most of the day and night, and not having curtains and just blinds, the apartment was very bright all the time and hard to sleep/stay asleep.

My husband and I simply loved Cliffside B & B. We were greeted with homemade spice and chocolate breads. They were so delicious. There were snacks, coffee/teas, creamer, fruit, paper goods…everything we needed. Upon opening the door you walk into a very serene and perfectly decorated suite. The colors are so relaxing and the artwork is outstanding. Just beautiful. Makes you feel right at home. Everything was totally immaculate and spotless. Had a private porch area with great view of the mountains. Krista was very responsive and a super hostess. Highly recommend!!

Excellent all around.
My wife and i were only there 2 nights, but it was great. A couple blocks away from downtown, on a hill with a great view. No traffic since you're at the side of a culdesac. Super clean, lots of natural light. Fresh bread on arrival Tv isn't easily viewable from the bed or couch. There is a stairway right next to the bed and you can hear activity in the kitchen upstairs. Highly recommended, and we'd stay again.

Perfect Cozy B&B for 2
We absolutely loved our stay here! It was perfect for the two of us. Comfy bed, beautiful artwork adorning the walls, private deck with spectacular views and they even left us yummy home baked goods! We even had a Keurig with different kinds of pods set up for us, and little snacks too! Couldn’t have asked for a better accommodation.

Great view
Great view from deck. Although deck would not be safe for young children. The room was comfortable and supplied well. Yummy homemade treats. We had to throw out our own trash and strip the bed, which was fine but a little odd, since we are always charged a cleaning fee with VRBO. The stairway from the room to the owners home did not have a door at the bottom which felt a little uncomfortable.

Meg, Thank you for taking the time to write a 5-star review. Our home is built into a cliff that provides an excellent view. Thus, the listing states: “No children allowed-high porch without childproof railings.” There is a heavy, locked door at the top of the quarter-turn staircase in the unit. Our check-out instructions are divided into 2 categories: Please do: 1) leave the key on the table by the door 2) remove all personal belongings Great if you do: 1) deposit trash in the blue trash can in the parking area 2) put all towels in the bathroom hamper 3) remove sheets.” Our only requirement is that you leave the key on the table and remove your personal belongings. Outstanding Hospitality!
My husband and I are a teacher couple in the Interior of Alaska and we very much enjoyed our two night stay at Krista and Lee’s home. You have the privacy of your own entrance and patio with a beautiful view. The bed was super comfortable and the hospitality was to die for! We LOVED the complimentary breakfast items and cake. 10/10 would recommend.

Beautiful ambiance studio
Beautiful studio. It was a lot better then I expected. The snacks and complimentary breakfast was helpful to us when we were on the go. The view of the mountains from the studio looked amazing. For the little days that we stayed I was satisfied with everything. The studio is well maintained. The communication with the host was prompted. I highly recommend this b&b if you are staying in Valdez, you will not regret it.

Terrific Place to Stay in Valdez!
My wife and I stayed in this lovely little oasis in Valdez for two nights nights in September 2022. Mice medium memory foam mattress in the queen bed, nice sitting area, coffee/cocoa/tea nook with a Keurig and microwave. We were left a nice little evening brownie snack, as well as lemon poppy seed muffins for the next morning. The bathroom was well appointed and laid out, with optional toiletries available for a small fee should you forget something. Tuck in the back of town, it was only 5 minutes from everything downtown, but quiet and secluded and just up on the hillside at the back of the neighborhood.

Fantastic Property
We loved staying here. This place has a fantastic view! Very easy to access and so many great amenities. The hosts were very easy to communicate with. So many nice touches in the space. Great continental breakfast choices, and delicious cookies. I love the comfortable space. It felt like home away from home. Wish we could have stayed longer. It was very spacious and nicely appointed. I do feel that the photo of the view, which is what most attracted me to the property, was deceptive. It may be the view from the top floor, but it was not from the rental space. The view is primarily of houses in the neighborhood, with the mountains in the background.

A little piece of heaven in Valdez, AK
We took advantage of being remote workers during the pandemic and decided to work/play in Alaska for a few weeks. Krista's place was perfect for working remote as the views of the mountains up in the hills were unforgettable. After work hours, I was able to explore the many waterfalls, and hiked Goat's trail, and visited the Valdez Ice Glaciers (rapidly melting so go see an ice glacier before it is gone!). Krista's cookies and breads were mouthwatering.....soooooo good! I would definitely come back and stay.

Great find! What a gem!
We really enjoyed our stay! The studio(as they call it) was wonderful.. It was very spacious, very clean and beautifully decorated! It was stocked with home made cookies and different types of bread, which where delicious, Keurig coffee maker and various flavors to choose from, oatmeal, fruit, boiled eggs, milk, juice, and yogurt and many other items I’m sure I am not listing. As stated earlier it was beautifully decorated. It just felt very comfortable and homey. There were three of us staying there and plenty of room. It has its own private entrance and a nice patio with wonderful views of the mountains. Only seen the owners once and so glad we had a chance to chat. As she recommended a wildlife/glacier cruise/tour that we did end up taking and I’m so glad we did!The mountains along the way to the glacier were breathtaking as well as the glaciers. We seen so many different wildlife along the way. Whales, see otters, sea lions, dolphins, puffins… It was amazing and well worth the day we spent on the ocean! We had a wonderful time and appreciate the details they put into the studio. I have nothing bad to say as we really enjoyed our stay!

Property description lacks full disclosure
Property was clean, check in was fine. Property description does not disclose you are staying in homeowner's basement. As you would expect in any basement, noises from above are amplified. Property is overpriced for type and location. We stayed 2 nights of a 4 night stay and left. Was extremely disappointed with paying $1000+ for this stay. PLEASE ADD TO DESCRIPTION THAT RENTAL IS IN A BASEMENT. Had that been disclosed I would never have booked this property. Please save future renters from that surprise.

Terry, thank you for taking good care of our suite. Your review took us by surprise. Many of our customers are Alaskans, repeat customers and we value your input. We have rented our suite using multiple booking sites to over a hundred guests and never had a complaint about noise or insinuations that our listing is misleading. Our reviews reflect quite the opposite. There are a few things from your review that I want to respectfully address. Price-VRBO’s Market Maker ranks the average price of rented properties for the days you were here to be $300-$308 placing our rate $100 plus dollars BELOW the market average in our area for a vacation rental. The current going rate for a comparable hotel suite is $354-$363, a regular room is $294-$297 and when I called them today there was no availability. Our property is located in a prime location in Valdez and built into the cliff. The entire lower level is dedicated to a private porch and suite with a panoramic view of the mountains and the Pacific Ocean. There are nine 57x36 inch windows in the suite. Guests have described the view as “felt like we were on top of the world”. Our guests also rave about the light and the incredible view. If you look at our listing there is a photo of how the house sits on the cliff facing south. It is high above the ground The entire lower level is dedicated to the suite. When I messaged you on the second day of your stay to check on things your response was “all was fine”. One the next day you sent me a message saying, “We are having to head back to Fairbanks early, our daughter has work she needs to return to. Thanks!”. I responded that I would try to get it rebooked and I would refund you your money if successful. Travelers usually book several weeks in advance and same-day bookings are hard to come by. I understand your frustration on booking for 4 nights and then having to leave early. It would have made me very happy to be able to rebook it quickly and ease that frustration. What an amazing place to stay in Valdez
I am not a person that does a b&b but for the first time I am so pleased. Everything and I mean everything was provided for us. Breakfast, a basket full of snacks, refrigerator full of all kinds of food and juices. Home baked breads and huge chocolate chip cookies. Krista forgot nothing. It is a huge, clean, and amazing view and I never wanted to leave. The bed was the most comfortable ever away from home. There was never anything you wanted for. I wish the weather was better so we could sit out on the nice porch set but no luck with that. Please take an opening here serious because you will never get a better place. Thank you Krista and Lee hope we get to stay again sometime. Enjoy your day.

Retreat in Valdez
This is a great place to stay and unwind from your adventures in Valdez. Cliffside BnB is located just out of the downtown area. This gives you easy access to restaurants and the harbor while offering the luxury of mountain views from bed (or anywhere in the suite). The suite has lots of windows and gets lots of light, so be sure to pack an eye mask if you’re coming here in the summer! Communication with the hosts was great and check in/out was easy and no-contact. You will probably hear folks upstairs periodically throughout the day, but things are very quiet overnight. We were so appreciative of all the thoughtful touches from the hosts—especially the snacks and homemade treats that awaited us! Thanks so much to Krista and Lee for making us feel at home in Valdez!
