Great place!

We visited for 5 days. Very nice place, great kitchen, good beds, charming balcony with plants, outdoorseats and bbq. We didn't use the spa but it looks very clean and has a beautifull view. The hosts are very kind and helpfull. We went kayaking and saw seals. Visiting Victoria is a 40 min drive but was nice for a whole dayvisit.. The Guest House and general property all around was charming and very well kept. There is a surprise for guests as they drive up the long gravel path to the guest property. I will not divulge it, because the surprise is fun. The kitchen was fine for cooking. There are lots of small appliances hidden away in the cupboards so be sure to check. The rooms were comfortable, and we made use of the sofa couch. There is one bathroom. The balcony chairs and table were lovey with a tranquil view. We made use of the barbeque and enjoyed drinks and conversation on the balcony. We did not have time for the hot tub, but I am sure it was lovely and they were very clear in their instructions on being sure to shower first before using. Amanda answered any questions right away and was very helpful. The property is a little isolated but in fact close to many places of interest. We visited many spots along the coast around Sooke and beyond and also picnicked and waded at the Potholes. There are many hiking places all around. The water was already a little cool for us in mid-September, but I imagine there are many good places to swim in the warmth of summer. It was enjoyable to come back to the guest house after a long day. I could tell the hosts work very hard to keep up the property but were very friendly when we met them. I loved seeing all their workshops, curious art works and antiques around the property. There is tasteful art inside as well. All in all, we had a wonderful stay.

Nette Begrüßung. Saubere Wohnung, aber für unseren Geschmack mit etwas zu viel Sammelsurium an Deko ausgestattet. Das sah auf den Fotos noch anders aus. Circa 45 Minuten Fahrt nach Victoria Dowmtown.

We were part of a family gathering that included parents and four grown children. Mom and Dad were in "Cozy Cabin Getaway", while we stayed up the hill in the "Guest House". We really enjoyed the proximity of the cabin for meals and hot tubbing, but then enjoyed the fact that our accommodations were separate. We would highly recommend booking both properties. Matheson Lake Park offers hiking trails as well as swimming, and it is only a short walk away. We also went salmon fishing in Sooke, and enjoyed a fish fry down at Mom and Dad's cabin. The acreage is off the beaten path, but that just makes it more inviting. Dave and Amanda were great, but their pups, Sidney and Buddy were even greater. We highly recommend the property(ies).

A wonderful property, in a nice region. The house was equipped with everything we neede for our stay. Two nice dogs that welcomed us each time we came back after an outing. It was a pity we only had two days to enjoy it,The perfect place for our family reunion.

Thank you Amanda and Dave! We loved our time at the house! It was a perfect way to relax and recharge being surrounded by the trees. We were able to swim and hike at Matheson Lake and explore the Juan de Fuca beaches. It is also super close to the galloping goose trail for amazing bike rides for the family. We loved every detail in the home, it has a fully stocked kitchen for making meals at home. We highly recommend it.

Lake Matheson Mystic

Our family of 4 adults and our dog enjoyed a wonderful stay with Ananda & Dave. They were terrific hosts, very accommodating. Their 2 bedroom property is well layed out and very well stocked with the essentials. The beds and pillows are very comfortable.
