The overall condition of the hotel is fair. It needs upgrading, needs fresh painting and room needs shower heads etc. The carpets at the hallway needs to be replaced and better lighting along the hallway. I asked for a king bed and was given twin beds???

Terrible hotel
This is definitely the worst hotel I've ever been at, this we supposed to be a 5 star hotel. The room was so dirty, holes in the covers, the bathroom is the worst, literarily everywhere you took is filthy. The only reason I stayed was that every hotel was booked out because of the festive season. They switched our room, they second room as as bad as the first The hotel staff; OMG starting from the first person you speak to when you walk in to the doormen were so rude, you'd think they were forced to work. I can go on and on about everything wrong with is place, see the attached pictures yourself

It’s very dirty and disorganized. The room was dirty and had insects in it. The food was horrible. The staff messed up the booking and had to find a replacement room. They didn’t attend to us on time when we called. Horrible service. I also saw a dead mouse

Nice staff with good atmosphere
A pleasant environment but the rooms required some TLC to attain the required wow factor, staffs are nice and friendly.

My First Trip to Lagos NG
The hotel is a very nice facility. Hotel staff checking in and day to day service were very courteous and profession. The food service for room service had several hiccups 😱. However, overall was pleased with the hotel would come again and suggest to others

Creepy environment and poor food
This hotel is located in Victoria Island and rooms have nice view of the water, but that’s the only good thing about it. Food is so horrible unfortunately can’t be a 5 starts hotel type of food. The environment in the hotel is so creepy which made me sacrifice 2 nights that I paid for and go to enjoy my weekend in another hotel instead of staying miserable after the hotel refused to refund my money back which also give me an impression that they are cheap. I do not recommend this hotel. I have paid a lot less for a nearby hotel and everything is amazing including the food and the environment.

Orientals is now being run-down, furnitures are extremely old, TV is very old with poor visual quality. Cable TV is terrible. Breakfast option is scanty. The elevator is is slow, requires immediate service. In general, I would NOT advice a friend to go there.

Arrived at the hotel and was checked into the new wing. The entire hotel was smelly and very dirty. The property looks abandoned. The hall way at the new wing is dirty and the carpet on the floor stinking. I complained to Mr Lanre at the reception and my room was changed to the old wing which was supposedly better but still it was nothing to justify the almost two Hundred Dollar Per night that I paid for this stay. The fridge was leaking and the wooden door on the fridge compartment was falling off. As a gold member with Expedia, this is the worst hotel I have stayed. You have to walk for almost five minutes through very unkept hallways to get to the restaurant for breakfast. his hotel needs to be closed down for a total overhaul.

I’m very disappointed from all aspects. 1. Unreasonable price. The hotel price is very similar as the other 5 star hotels, but the facilities are dirty, old, and not maintained. I travelled a lot over the world, this 5 star hotel is the worst one I’ve ever stayed. It’s even worse than 2 star hotel in China. 2. No consistent power. January 27 was my worst day in my life. I was stuck in the elevator container with blackout, emergency ring DID NOT work, emergency phone DID NOT work either. I don’t want to recall that scary memory. I spent longest 5 minutes in my life, when I was walking out the elevator, my hands, arms, and legs shaking. 3. Worst customer service General manager, manager, staff are lazy and don’t do their jobs properly. Although they offered me one night stay, I don’t feel their apologies. Even though, GM, manager and staff said sorry, I don’t feel that is from heart. 4. My colleague met with a client who was splashed dirty water because of cleaning overhead!!! Overall, I won’t recommend this hotel other than Chinese restaurant.

Expedia and the hotel are not communicating . Despit paying hundreds of pounds for our 3 nights stay . the hotel told us at the reception that they have not note of our booking with them. We had to make a new reservation on the spot and go and pursue Expedia ourselves. Was an anxious moment no place to stay.

Nice but----bathroom need updating
I spent one night here as my friend celebrated her 50th in one of the banquet halls. The location is great, specious room and the lagoon view from room on 10th floor is beautiful. However, the bathroom is old and needs updating and did not look well cleaned after last guest. I was in the room just to sleep for a few hours after the party so i did not fuss. Usually I would insist on the bathroom being properly cleaned.

The property itself was very elegant from the outside. However the cleanliness was appalling!! The carpets in the lobby and corridors were so visibly dirty!! Our room on the first day was so unclean! I imagine nobody bothers to check the level of cleanliness from supervisory point of view. The Housekeeping Service was very good because they cleaned and dusted the room very quickly on request! The Breakfast Room was very clean and good variety of meals offered. There is only a 20% chance of staying at the Oriental in future

Avoid this hotel; its currently up for sale!

The stay wasn’t bad honestly however, for the price i would have expected Orientals rooms to be a lot nicer. No carpet, bathrooms subpar with appearance and the room is just bare. The carpet that’s in the hallway has an odor that isn’t very pleasant. I honestly wouldn’t pay to stay here again as there are other great hotels in that area that the comfort is worth the price.

The room was spacious but seemed hollow. No pictures on the wall, just a plain box with cheap mattress on the bed. The kicker is, there is no iron or ironing board. I asked for one, someone said they would bring one immediately. Six hours later i called and they acted like it was the first call about needing an iron. Laundry came and picked up my clothes later and charges me for ironing.
