The Amsterdam Chalet at The Lake! A small paradise 10 minutes from Amsterdam

Offering free WiFi, airconditioning and a barbecue, The Amsterdam Chalet is overlooking the 'Vinkeveense Plassen' (lake), located at a 10-minute drive from Amsterdam. Rotterdam is 50 km from the property & Utrecht 20 km. The cities of Amsterdam and Utrecht can be easily reached via the A2 motorway. The village called Abcoude is nearby. Because there is an NS station present and two regional buses run through Abcoude, the rest of the country is also easily accessible. Perfect for a family. All facilities available.

The chalet with 2 bedrooms is private and fully equipped. There is a air conditioning system that can also be used to heat the chalet. There is also a gas heater for the cold evenings. The luxurious bathroom has a lovely spacious shower, sink with storage space and toilet. Here you will also find towels and toilet paper. There are two bedrooms for a total of 4 persons. One room with a spacious double bed that can also be turned in 2 single beds and a room with a bunk bed. Beds will be made upon arrival. Both rooms have plenty of closet space. A baby bed and high chair can be provided on request. The kitchen is fully equiped with a dishwasher, combi microwave, large fridge-freezer, Nespresso coffee machine, kettle and all the crockery and cooking utensils to eat and prepare food at the chalet throughout your stay.

The chalet has a lovely sunny terrace with garden furniture (6 chairs), two sun beds, a bench, a Weber BBQ and various children's outdoor toys. Access to the wonderful swimming water trough a wooden jetty with swimming ladder. A boat can also be moored along the side.

The area is wonderful for walking, sailing and cycling. For example, explore "het Gein", a beautiful area between Abcoude and Driemond, where you will pass a mill that Piet Mondriaan has painted. Be sure to visit 'Anna Haen' or Boutique hotel "De Witte Dame" along the way, a beautiful old former train station building with a beautiful terrace to eat or drink. Or go back in time by visiting the Fort in Abcoude, an old fortress from 1884. You can cycle to Amsterdam in 45 minutes. Or you cycle or drive to the train station in Abcoude or the metro station at Amsterdam Holendrecht where you can take the train or metro with your bike. There is also a busstop 3 km from the chalet, where you can take the bus to Amsterdam. The chalet has 2 bicycles for adults and 1 children's bicycle that you can use. Or you can rent bicycles (including electric ones) at 'Ollie's' in Abcoude where you can also enjoy a nice meal.

Within walking distance of the chalet is 'Zwier' and 'Jachthaven Bon' where you can rent a canoe, sup, motor boat or sailing boat to spend a day sailing on the lakes. Or rent for several days and moor your boat at the chalet. From the Vinkeveense plassen you can make great trips with the boat, for example in 2 hours you are on the Amsterdam canals. Or sail through the Waver or take a tour past glorious country estates that you will find in abundance in this area.

Culinary there is also plenty to be found within walking distance. For example "Koffiehuis de Goede morning", a super romantic place where you can have breakfast and lunch and they have homemade cakes. Or enjoy lounging on Wander Island, a beach club on Island 1 on the lakeside with a beach. The children will not get bored here either with the adjacent playground. The property features a private garden with sun terrace and views over the water, where guests have the possibility to swim. It is possible to rent boats, sups and canoes in the nearby harbors.
The Amsterdam Chalet includes a TV, seating area and terrace. There is a brand new kitchen, fitted with a dishwasher, a combi oven, toaster and coffee machine are also offered. Abcoude has long been popular with Amsterdammers who want to leave the bustle of the city. This is also not surprising: the charming and bustling village atmosphere in combination with the location right next to Amsterdam and the good accessibility makes it a popular village.
In Abcoude the river Angstel flows, which among other things ends in the beautiful Lake of Abcoude. In terms of recreation and sports, there is much more to do in Abcoude and its immediate surroundings.
There are beautiful hiking trails in the Botshol nature reserve and the Lindepad. You can also discover Abcoude by bike. The historic area by the river Gein is definitely worth a look. And along the Angstel are the special country estates that the prominent and wealthy merchants from Amsterdam had built after the mid-17th century. A nice place of interest is also the Fort at Abcoude, the oldest land fort of the theorem of Amsterdam.
