Slaapt 7 in 3 slaapkamers, met 2 badkamers, 1 ensuite een heerlijk huisje, in Rock, Noord-Cornwall. Korte pauzes welkom buiten het hoogseizoen. Gelegen op loopafstand van zandstranden, Camel Sailing & Waterski school, St Enedoc golfbaan en prachtige wandelingen langs de kust. Charmant huisje van meer dan 100 jaar oud, met parkeergelegenheid voor 2 auto's, eigenzinnig en toch ruim, op een paar minuten lopen van diverse lokale winkels, waaronder broodjeszaak, bakker, slagers, chandler en boetieks met geschenken / kleding. Voetveer naar Padstow voor toegang tot Camel-fietspad en zeereizen, dineren met Rick Stein, winkelaanbod ... Coasteering beschikbaar voor moedig. 2 mijl van Polzeath voor surfscholen en veilig familiestrand, rotspoelen, goede plekken om te eten. Port Isaac (Doc Martin) bekendheid in de buurt en Tintagel voor een geschiedenisles. Afgelegen, zonnige tuin geschikt voor al fresco maaltijden, veilig voor kinderen en honden. Internet BT Infinity en BT Sport voor dagen binnenshuis. Maak een wandeling naar Porthilly en ga bij eb verder naar Rock en Daymer Bay op. Charter een boot, of profiteer van vissen / speedboottochten, u kunt ook dolfijnen in de monding zien. Huisdieren welkom (beneden en tegen betaling). Cottage kan ook geboekt worden met appartement in de buurt referentie E13903 voor grotere partijen. De verbeteringen in 2017 omvatten een nieuw dak en externe isolatie, rendering en een nieuwe look voor de hele buitenkant van ons mooie huisje - er is nog meer gepland. Vraag naar speciale aanbiedingen en flexibele omschakeldagen in het midden- en laagseizoen.

8 nights staying locally and enjoying body boarding. It was home away from home. Had everything we needed. We cooked every night and never worried that we might not have what we needed. Showers were so good - nice showers are a must after body boarding all day! And they were fabulous. House was cozy, clean and smelled wonderful. Comfortable beds and warm even without the heat on. No horrible drafts or smells. We loved every moment at Hollyhocks.

Fantastic location for exploring Cornwall

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in rock. The location of the cottage was fantastic for exploring an that Cornwall has to offer and the kids enjoyed getting the ferry over to Padstow, which we did on several occasions. Plenty of options for dining without needing to use the car, supermarket deliveries available which we did, however, the village shops are well stocked so if we came again we would just use those. My only small comment would be that the listing had said there was a dryer so we only bought 4 days worth of clothes to save car space and took washing tablets with us but when it came to having the first load of washing to do we found it was just a washer and not a washer dryer. With the weather not being great it took us two days to get the washing dry inside which wasn't ideal. If we'd known this facility wasn't available we would have packed accordingly. If you stay, don't leave trying the bakery to the last day like we did, it's fantastic!

Lovely cottage, very thoughtfully equipped and homely. Great to have use of bikes (if you wish), body boards and wet suits which save space in the car. Lovely area, lots of lovely places to walk, do watersports and sight-see. Loved The Mariners for a cheeky drink on a hot day and the boat trip over to Padstow for fish and chips is a must. Cornwall Treat

The house is on a quite busy road, but once you’re inside it’s barely noticeable. There’s plenty of off road parking space which is a bonus. The house is nicely decorated in a calm seaside theme. It was warm when we arrived. The kitchen is well equipped. I’d definitely consider booking this again.

A great place to stay

Lovely, fairly spacious house. There were five of us plus one dog (nice secure back garden). Friendly pub just a 2 minute walk & other handy local shops nearby, e.g. nice bakery. A great base for various places, e.g. Polzeath Beach, Padstow, Port Isaac etc. Lovely beaches. Great surfing. The owner (Wendy) was very quick to respond & helpful too. Thank you.

Ideal for us

The property was well found , comfortable and well equipped. We were delighted to find bicycles, wet suits and surf boards in the shed. A barbecue would be good as well! The geography being so close to Rock, Polzeath and Daymer Bay is perfect. We had a wonderful week.

Our stay near Rock

Overall an enjoyable week spent at this house. The living room is very spacious and the garden was pleasant to sit in (apart from during the week when the builders were operating diggers and breakers). Found the kitchen very small and the fridge freezer was very undersized for a family with small kids. Irritating being in a cupboard so you had to open two doors to get in the fridge. As it's right on the main road into Rock it isn't a peaceful spot with the traffic going past but good location for day trips to Rock and Daymer Bay which we love .

Superb

Lovely comfortable cottage with all the amenities you require. Great enclosed garden and superbly located to visit other areas. Short drive to Port Isaac and Rock with ferry over to Padstow which we did a few times. The Pityme Inn (a short walk) is great with lovely food and great staff. Tasting Rooms in Padstow also worth a visit. All in all a great last minute fund for us and we will definitely back for longer! Thank you x

Clean, warm and comfortable

We had a great stay at Hollyhocks. Cottage is clean warm and comfortable with all mod cons and everything you could need for a self catering holiday. We were very lucky with the weather, managing to lunch in the garden a few times. Hollyhocks is located about 20-30 minutes walk from the beach, on the main Rock Road, but with plenty of footpaths to take across the golf course, its a pleasant walk. The only thing that would improve the stay is the provision of towels for guests. Wendy is a great host and we would definitely recommend.

Hollyhocks Christmas stay

Stayed over Christmas and New Year. We found the property, clean, well equipped with plenty of room for the six of us and our dogs. Our visit was managed brilliantly. Will we be back? Certainly I would unreservedly recommend this accommodation.

We visited as a November break from work. Location perfect to walk dogs on the beach, which they loved. Nice to pop across on the ferry to Padstow. Easy for a afternoon trip to the Eden Project. House great to relax after a day out. Generally a lovely holiday.
