I just spent 10 days at the Olson Family Lake House. We had 8 adults and 4 children and even though the description doesn't say that many can stay, I was told it would be ok since there were futons and such. The futons are horrible to sleep on and not much better to sit on. I would not recommend taking more people than the 2 queen beds and the bunk beds will allow, unless you have an air mattress. We also could not get the TV to work due to the low bandwidth of the Wi-Fi. (This is a large, older TV that can only be seen when sitting right in front of it, not from the sides.) We notified the owner and then spoke with someone nearby that cares for the home and a tech was sent out. He came while we were gone for the day and left the back door to the deck wide open. I texted the owner letting her know that the TV still wasn't working and that the AC unit quit working when we had 3 days left. I never received a response (07/25/2016). We ended up leaving a day early because it was over 95 degrees in the home when the AC unit quit working. When the AC unit was working, it didn't do a great job of cooling the home, even when no one was there during the day. It would get up to about 85 during the day and take most of the night to get cooled back down. This also affected the refrigerator's ability to keep up when it was full of food.
The lawn had not been mowed and the grass was past my knees. Everyone got tons of chigger bites every-time we went outside and walked through it, down the steep incline to the "lake". This is not a lake front home. It has about 6 feet of water frontage to a very small cove area. When we arrived, there were dead fish and lots of debris in the area. There were also several wasp nests around the eaves of the home, which made it hard to go in and out of the door or enjoy the very small upper deck.
The bunk beds are located upstairs, between the kitchen and front door area while the 2 bedrooms are downstairs. There are no doors where the bunk beds are either... It is wide open and difficult to get kids the kids to bed if others want to stay up and use the living /kitchen area or upper decks.
There is a guy named Lewis that provided us with a slip for the boat and helped us get the boat launched at the ramp that is very close to the home. The owner was very nice and answered all my questions prior and during my stay, but not when the AC went out. It's a great location, just needs some serious updates.
