'We booked 2 rooms for nearby Amherst College graduation. The hotel worked out perfectly (although we didn't get to try out the famous dining halls as they were already closed for the year), staff were always nice, the onsite parking at $6 was convenient and we were constantly amazed at how fast the elevators were. The only dings we had were the temperature control in the room was wonky - it got really hot and the a/c wouldn't come on because we were told the temp OUTSIDE was too cold? As we were...

'Only coffee available for breakfast. Room smelled horrible and it was dirty collecting dust and dirty behind curtain. Fyi:: if you like to sleep in dark room bring your own black out curtains. Towels where dirty and very dingy. . Restaurant closes at 3 and nothing close by where to get a decent meal. Won't be staying there again.'

'I was thrilled with the location. Very short walk into town, and had plenty of parking. Checking in was a breeze by just using codes to the doors. My first impression walking into the building was that it smelled VERY clean. My room was spotless, bright and charming. I stayed in Room #8, and it was the perfect size for a single or a couple. The ONLY thing I wish it had was a blow dryer, but that is a VERY minor mark. 5 stars all around, and will stay here again!'

'This Viking Village is fantastic. There is so much eye for details, you really enter a different world. We had a great time there and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The house has everything you need, and is very comfortable. The guide inside the house with tips and suggestions for visiting and eating/drinking in the area is very comprehensive and helpful. Do not mis this place when you are in the area. '

'Loved the Black Walnut Inn. I would love to go back. The rooms are lovely. Breakfast is delicious. A very generous spread. Self-serve tea and coffee is available at all times in the dining room area. There are also treats one can help oneself too. Chocolate chip cookies our first day and molasses cookies the second. Meghan bakes the best cookies. Seriously, the best. The owners are very warm. If we visit Amherst again, staying here would be our first choice. Thank you.'

'I don’t know where to begin. The place smelled like cigarette smoke. When I tried to check in I had to ring a bell and was to come back as the front desk staff seemed to all go out to lunch. After finally checking in, the tv didn’t work, the iron is broken and spilled water everywhere when I tried to iron my clothes. The bathroom showers had mold everywhere and I was genuinely afraid to step on the carpet, barefooted or touch anything in the room. I had to put my own bedsheets and pillowcases on...

'The continental breakfast was good - a variety of fresh baked goods, yogurts, fresh fruits, granola, teas, and the coffee was excellent! It would have been nice to enjoy a hot breakfast on the cold and gloomy morning that we were there, though. We enjoyed meeting our friendly host, Joe, and had a nice conversation with him as he explained the history of the property and some future kitchen renovations he has in the works. Parking was no problem - plenty of space, well-lit, felt absloutely...
