The Balsam House is a vacation cottage located in a secluded neighborhood in Washburn, Wisconsin. Washburn offers easy access to the beautiful, scenic Chequamegon Bay waterfront area of Lake Superior with sandy beaches, boat launch, marina, and walking paths. A premier location across from the Lake Superior View Golf Course, within walking distance of downtown and the beaches. This new build cottage boasts close proximity to “the gateway to the Apostles Island”, national seashore, sea caves, Chequamegon National Forest Hiking Trails, and Madeline Island. Enjoy the luxury of an upscale cottage, new build with all the comforts that only a “new build” can provide. Ample parking for trailers, and recreational vehicles as well as personal vehicles. Full master bedroom and attached bathroom. Guest bedroom, with individual bathroom. Comfortable beds with brand new bedroom furniture, complete with deluxe Sealy mattresses. A comfortable Coddle Switch queen sofa bed sleeps accommodates extra quests in the living room. The efficient user friendly kitchen features brand new GE Profile appliances, an induction cooktop stove, built in microwave and ovens(bake and convection), and a large KitchenAide refrigerator complete with ice dispenser in the door. Tough Race Day

We stayed for a half marathon in Ashland. The door handle has some crazy deal that stumped my hub for quite a while--who started in the hotel business in maintenance. We finally got it around nine... Only to have our call returned at ten... On the night before a race. :( In the morning we struggled with the cook top too long and I had to eat PBJ before the race. Tile floors and bathroom could've been cleaner. But as a previous hotel inspector I'm pretty picky! I suggest better info in the binder to help guests and people should know in advance that the only TV is in one bedroom. Lots of construction, but great location!

Washburn stay

Property was great! Was super happy and relieved there were beach towels. House was cute, clean, and new. Property manager was very helpful about local "must see's". Very surprised and disappointed there was no air conditioning. There were ceiling fans but still 80+ degrees at bedtime and did not feel comfortable leaving the windows wide open.

Beautiful Balsam House

The house was beautiful! Nestled nicely amongst the trees, it was a perfect location for our stay as we visited The Apostle Islands National Seashore. Just a short drive to Bayfield and the National Seashore, we had fun exploring and sightseeing the area. The house was just as described and met our needs. The Southshore of Lake Superior is just a few blocks walk as is the quaint town of Washburn. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
