Perfect Stay
This is our second time staying in this lovely home! Our stay was just as wonderful as the first time we stayed here! The house is just beautiful with everything and anything we could possibly need! The property is beautiful with spectacular views! It is quiet, peaceful and inviting! If you are in the area, and looking for a place to stay please look no further😊.

Perfect in every way
This cottage was absolutely perfect! From the moment we walked through the door until we left, I felt like a fairy princess! It has everything we needed for a marvelous stay! There was much to explore around and in the cottage from hidden little gems to wildlife outside! I don’t want to spoil the little surprises for those that might be staying so I won’t tell all! You need not look any further for a beautiful stay if you are visiting the area! You won’t be disappointed😊

A fairy tale cottage
This cottage was so fun and very pretty. The moment we walked in I felt like I was walking into a French countryside cottage. It was so comfy looking and welcoming. Beautiful colors, gorgeous chandeliers, a wonderful back deck with a big table and six chairs, a small outdoor sofa, 2 grills, and lots of milling around space. I couldn't wait to unpack and sink into the shabby chic couch...which I did and it was fabulous. There are books throughout the house, lovely flower arrangements, lots of little knick knacks to pick up and wonder about and some lovely art on the walls. I made a point to sit in every chair in the place and wasn't disappointed by any. Our group of 4 had plenty of space to spread out into. 2 large bedrooms upstairs, one of which was a fairy garden in a bedroom...quite romantic. And another full bed and bath downstairs. The kitchen was well equipped and we found everything we needed to make a full meal. We used the gas grill and enjoyed a nice bottle of prosecco upon arrival. One of my favorite things about the cottage was that I found something new everyday. So many fairies and hidden treasures among the chandeliers and flowers, it was a little adventure to look for them each day. The ground are wonderful and my boyfriend and I made use of a large hammock under the trees. We saw a groundhog every day who obviously lived under the shed and so many different birds. There a short, pretty walk up to a winery at the top of the hill and my friends took two quite challenging hikes in the area while I tested out the furniture for napping and reading:-) All in all, it was a wonderful 3 nights and we would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a fantasy experience with all the comforts, and more, of home.

Beautiful spot
Convenient to Washington Va as well as nearby flint hill and Sperryville and to hiking in the Shenandoah National Park . Quiet comfortable big private property .. lots of birds and light and sky . wonderful deck . We had a family reunion to run the Fodderstack 10k with people of all ages. Everyone loved it .

Milestone birthday
Had a group in for nice meals at the typical places in Washington VA area. Cottage was one of four places we had guests use and it was a nice place for all the adult children to stay and hang together in the living room, dining room kitchen areas. They did not get to use the outdoor spaces due to the March snowfall!

We have two new restaurants opening in Rappahannock this month. Patrick O’Connell, our famed chef whose Inn at Little Washington once again earned three Michelin stars, is going casual. His cafe' is across the road from his restaurant and he’s planning a menu of “deceptively simple” food “done better than you ever thought possible,” he says. Also the Blue Rock Inn another fabulous restaurant close to the cottage, which has two dining options: a casual wine and beer tasting room, and a full-service restaurant with former Pineapple & Pearls head chef Bin Lu. Lovely Shenandoah Cottage Getaway
I can’t say enough good things about our stay at Lefay Cottage. This is the perfect location, with only a very short drive to wonderful restaurants, vineyards, and shops. Sally Anne is a true professional, passionate about her property, and passionate about providing the best possible stay for her guests. Of course, the proximity to Shenandoah Park and hiking trails makes for the perfect excursion, however the cottage itself and the property it sits on is oozing with charm!! It’s almost hard to want to leave. We will most certainly be back, but next time, maybe just my husband and I, and we’ll leave the kids at home.

Wonderful stay

Second time as good as the first!
As the subject line reads,… This was our second time and it was every bit as good as the first. We don’t at the Inn at Little Washington one night and enjoyed the local attractions on the other night. We also enjoyed the short walk up to the Little Washington winery! Sally Anne is a great communicator. I can also share from experience that the house is every bit as much fun and more in the warmer weather. I look forward to a return trip in the near future.

Come back again...LOVED having you stay and enjoy the cottage! The Inn at Little Washington is such a FABULOUS experience and as you mentioned, we do have some great wineries, breweries & distilleries nearby! Perfect girls weekend
We loved LeFay cottage for a girls weekend. It was a great location - we were able to visit a winery and a few restaurants, as well as hike and visit the Luray caverns. Sally Anne met us at the house to go over the details. We would definitely recommend!

Little Washington Gem
LeFay Cottage was the ideal accommodation for our family celebration. Minutes from the Inn at Little Washington, this lovely getaway offered us convenience, privacy and comfort! Cozy and clean, light-filled and roomy, this house has it all...even a view of Old Rag mountain. Enjoy local hiking, cafés and shops.

A little fairy cottage in the country
I had started planning my trip about 4 months ahead to go to Washington VA with some friends to try out the famous Inn. I live about 2 hours away so we had to stay. This place made the whole weekend even more perfect. Sally Ann greeted us at the house with a bottle of bubbly even though she had injured herself and had a hard time gettng around. She made sure everything was just perfect. The beds were very comfortable. The towels were super soft and abundant. We took multiple pictures of the "fairy room" and one of my girlfriends insisted on wearing a pair of wings almost the entire time in the house. It was also very nice to walk to the Little Washington winery which is one of my favorites. I was sent an informative email months before arrival so we were able to have massage therapists come to the house. If you want an unforgettable relaxing weekend in the beautiful Virginia countryside stay at LeFay and book a kitchen table at the Inn.

Beautiful cottage in Washington, VA!
We had a lovely stay here! The owner greeted us on our arrival and showed us around the house and made sure we could connect to Wifi, etc. What I loved about this home were the small touches--sodas in the fridge, coffee with a Keurig machine, Molton Brown bath products in the showers, etc. We felt very at home! Highly recommend!

Perfection!
We were celebrating a special occasion at the Inn at Little Washington over the weekend. Sally Anne was a pleasure to deal with - she sent an email with recommendations in the area and was there to greet us and orient us to the cottage upon our arrival. She has lovingly decorated this charming and beautiful home which is a magical venue. We enjoyed sitting on the deck with a glass of wine in the evening, breakfast in the kitchen, and just sitting on the bench on the property gazing at the mountains. It was very quiet - beds were comfortable - and it was complete with fine linens and toiletries. It is a short 5 minute drive to the Inn. We had an absolutely perfect weekend, and we're thinking of what future occasion we can celebrate here again in order to return.

SallyAnn has a beautiful home! It was very comfortable and inviting. She very thoroughly gave us a tour of the home and had many resources available showing the many highlights of the county. The bathrooms, kitchen, and living areas were well stocked with everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again and again!!

Great house, great views, great location, great host!
We had a great time staying at this property. It is very close to downtown Washington, Va, which was important for us because we were going to The Inn at Little Washington for dinner. It is also very close to Sperryville, which is where we went for groceries. There is also a cute winery in walking distance to the house! Sally Anne had everything there we needed - from coffee and tea to towels and lush bathroom products (shampoo, conditioner, soap). She made the check-in/out process extremely easy and was available if we needed anything. The bedrooms are a great size and were super comfortable! But we spent most of our time in the kitchen/dining area as well as outside on the deck looking at the amazing views! As Sally notes in the description, cell service is not great, but with the wifi at the house we didnt have an issue.

Beautiful home
Our family of four stayed here over New Year's weekend and had a wonderful time. The house is perfectly comfortable, and incredibly well located. It was like a winter wonderland. There are great restaurants nearby, and lots of options for hiking, wine tasting (we walked a few minutes up the road to the Little Washington Winery), or just staying in at this very cozy home. Definitely recommend to others.

Okay, it WAS magical.
If you are observant when you drive through the gates of Sally Anne's cottage in Washington VA you'll notice the fairies perched on top of the fence posts. Once you're in the home, however, the charm is real world. The attention to detail is extraordinary - beautiful furnishings, luxurious towels and linens, comfortable bedrooms, wonderful bathrooms. Our first night we had dinner at a great place recommended by Sally Anne. Next night, after a hike, we BBQed on the deck overlooking the spectacular grounds. This is truly a special home, one of the best we've ever stayed in. We can't say enough about the pleasures of the home and the host.

A very pleasant stay
We had a lovely time staying at Lefay Cottage. Our hostess could not have been more helpful, even scoring last-minute babysitting services for us, and our time there was relaxing. Secluded enough that we could let our small children run free in the yard without a worry, but close enough to (little) Washington, Sperryville, Luray and other communities that we were never lacking in things to do. It was a good weekend.
