The barn is a great place to retreat and yet still have access to many of the area's attractions. Overall, there are lovely touches throughout the place, such as artwork and carpentered additions. The kids enjoyed their little hideout sleep places. The little kids room upstairs and the "Harry Potter bed" are a nice touch. The kitchen wasn't as well stocked as I've encountered at other rentals, on the Cape and elsewhere, but we managed. For a longer stay (we only stayed a long weekend), I'd be sure to bring extra kitchen towels, and more of our own spices, and also small plates (there were only one--large--size plates, which for breakfast or smaller bites wasn't all that convenient). Because of the open lay out, the upstairs being right above the living room, noise travels easily. It worked okay for us--only three nights. I did appreciate the option to do our own cleaning--leave as you found it--so as to save a bit on rental cost, especially since it was just a weekend. Thank you!
