'This place is heaven on earth. The rooms are large and stunningly well decorated. The staff is amazing. It's run like a high end game safari destination. Lots to see on the property's large private reserve. You won't find the diversity and huge numbers of game available in Kruger, Botswana, Namibia, etc. This is more of a place for people who have already had their serious safari experience and are looking for a gorgeous property for rest and relaxing and feeling pampered.'

'What a wonderful Apartment. Beautiful and clean with AMAZING views. The Apartment has an uninterrupted view of the ocean and we even got to watch the Whales from the balcony. The Apartment is huge with everything you need for a self catering holiday. The cleaning lady was lovely and friendly and did our laundry when we arrived and everything was washed and dried in no time. I would definitely recommend this apartment to friends and family. It was definitely a highlight of our 2 week holiday...

'Loved the hotel, we were there for one night, check in was extremely smooth, the room was very pretty – loved the complimentary sherry and fruit in the room, and we had a wonderful view of the sea. 'Another lovely stay at Darling Lodge with Stephan and Oliver. Very welcoming. Good advice on restaurants The Old Forge in Darling and The Beach House in Yzerfontein Dont miss the Darling Museum very close by. It's a real gem!'

Het huis bleek echter super gehorig, je kon de buren van het aangrenzende chalet letterlijk verstaan. De pizza's van het restaurant waren niet goed geprepareerd, de manager haalde ze na reclamatie gelijk van de rekening. '

'We loved this place! The ocean view from our room was spectacular. We checked out a few other places in town that are more expensive and the view from the Linhof is the best! Breakfast was excellent. Shirley, the manager who runs this place, merits special mention. She helped us get our bags upstairs, served us our breakfast and always had a smile and a kind word. 'Alabaster Box certainly is doing something right! Besides the home being immaculately kept, the service is top notch. Upon entering my room I was met with the most beautiful scent of sandalwood. A small fridge, and kettle were available for my snacks and tea. The shower was absolutely amazing, and much needed after a long car ride! The balcony even had views of the lagoon.
