PROS1) Plenty of space.2) Friendly and communicative host.3) Luxurious to have a private pool, hot tub and waterslide.4) Generally neutral decor.5) Wonderful to have a games room for our kid. 6) The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of towels.7) Nice open view across the vine fields and a glimpse of the lake.CONS:1) The listing didn't specify that the owner lives in the house, in a separate unit. There's always a feeling of less privacy when the owner is so close, even though they have their own entrance and are not seen or heard. 2) It's a "smart home" which is always a headache. Hard to figure out the controls, you always have Google listening for possible commands, the temperature was auto-lowered to 19 degrees the first night etc. 3) There was no advance mention of the "macerating toilet" on the lower floor where the king bedroom is located. Every time you flush it makes a terrible loud noise that will wake up your partner if you go to the washroom in the middle of the night. And not only that, it will start "macerating" loudly even if you're just showering or running water in the sink. 4) The cleanliness was okay, but not great. There was swimwear left by the poolside, hairs in the hot tub, and dust bunnies here and there inside. 5) There are notes everywhere telling you what to do or not to do, and you get a multi-page "house guide" with rules. 6) There was still occasional construction noise from a new complex right next door.
