Terrible experience with suspected racial discrimination
I stayed at this hotel for three nights, paying over USD 300 per night with a reservation made well in advance. On the morning of my third day, I found there were no clean towels to replace and no toilet paper left in the bathroom. I went to the lobby to request housekeeping, but the staff didn’t even bother asking for my room number – just casually agreed without any follow-up.
Later that day, I ran into the housekeeping staff and repeated my request. He checked his list and told me my room wasn’t on it. It made me feel like I was being deliberately excluded, and as a Chinese Canadian, I couldn’t help but feel this was racial discrimination.
When I returned to my room that night, nothing had been cleaned, the towels hadn’t been replaced, and there was still no toilet paper. I wasn’t staying there for free – I paid a premium rate and deserved at least basic respect and service.
This was an extremely disappointing and upsetting experience. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who expects to be treated equally and with dignity.
