Family trip
The cabin is beautiful, and cozy, and the view from the windows is stunning, this cabin has all amenities we needed. We had a lot fun right in the backyard with sled. Also, the owner, Pete, is awesome, he answers our message immediately, keep us updated about the weather, and expended his Sunday morning to help us with our car. Thank you so much for all you did for us.

We appreciated the warm welcome and cleanliness for our stay. The cabin is well appointed and stocked with anything you might need. The property mngr was very responsive. We hiked nearby trails for 2 days and cooked in. Comfortable, quiet and beautiful! Fun get-together for friends.

I stayed here with my husband and dog for a hiking vacation and it was just perfect. The house is extremely clean and very well set up for guests. There are plenty of linens, blankets, sundries, even snacks, so you don't have to keep running to the store for stuff like paper towels. The appliances all work perfectly, including the giant washer and dryer. The furniture is all quite comfortable. We slept in the loft because we preferred the mattress firmness to the king bed. The sunrises from that window are incredible. If you have a larger party, just note that the loft is open to the downstairs so it won't be as private. The property is as beautiful and private as it looks in the pictures and we really loved accessing trails without having to drive. (Beware of Texas Creek trail! It's the only awful one.) We spent the evenings on the deck or reading in the armchairs when raining, and it was just so relaxing. Really doesn't get old. We had a 2wd rental sedan and had no problem getting around in the summer, but do note that you'll need something better to access some trailheads and everywhere in the winter. If time permits, I recommend visiting Mission:Wolf, a wolf sanctuary about an hour away. It is a beautiful drive and unique experience. The host is very nice and responsive. There are detailed instructions for everything. As another commenter noted, there isn't anything negative to say about this place. I would love to return and wish we could have stayed longer.

The Magical Cabin was truly magical!
I booked this VRBO for a family vacation with my elder mom, nephew, and his girlfriend! We take a yearly trip to the wet mountain valley so always looking for new best options for our stay!! Nephew and girlfriend stayed in the basement living area! My mom took the main floor room with the crib, and I took the master! We still had the loft area that was unused - plenty of space!! Master was fantastic and super roomy! It was nice having my own bathroom space! Mom had the bathroom next to her room for convenience, and the nephew used the bathroom in the basement except for showers! Checkin was super easy and straight forward! Communication with the owner was pleasant and efficient! We spent most nights either playing the provided board games or looking through the provided telescope! Fully stocked pantry and all the condiments in the fridge you could possibly want! A nice bottle of wine was provided as a welcome and baskets of candy and chips! Truly lovely, beautiful, roomy, and easy stay!! Thanks so much for opening your home! I look forward to our next stay!!

Beautiful cabin nestled in the Sangre de Cristos
Big windows overlooking forest where we enjoyed viewing wildlife. The house is clean and lovely with plenty of space for our family gathering. Obvious that the owner Peter B loves this property and we were so happy that we got to use it this past week. We appreciated the close proximity to the Rainbow Trail.

Good stay except for the bugs
We spent two days at this property and enjoyed the beautiful location and plenty of space. We knew staying in the woods there would be a few bugs, but the amount of bugs inside the house and especially the presence of yellow jackets inside and outside was alarming. We probably saw 30+ yellow jackets inside and we were constantly killing other bugs. That definitely put a damper on our stay. Otherwise, the house was nicely stocked, the owner communicated well, and it was a pretty view.

Thank you for the heads up on the wasps. I have already had our handyman out to address this issue. It is great that we’ve had such a wet year, but this does encourage bugs.

Peace and Tranquility
If you want beauty. If you want peace and quite, this is the place. This is exactly what the doctor ordered. An absolutely stunning setting and a very comfortable - clean house with beauty all around. I am not sure what more you could ask for in a Colorado getaway. We are already scouting out dates for next years adventure! I challenge anyone to find a better view of the Westcliff Valley from the BBQ location at this property. We also enjoyed some of the local, grass feed raised beef from the local meat market to throw on the grill. Also took many hikes on the Rainbow Trail that runs along the Sangria Mountain range right behind the house a 100 yards or so. If your a star gazer. The night sky there is absolutely incredible. Comfortable. Clean. Convenient. Quite. Its a 5 Star for sure. Brett W. California

Excellent Cabin!
My wife, brother, 2 dogs and I, spent 6 days in this beautiful cabin surrounded by the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. The cabin was everything we hoped for and more. The scenery was breathtaking. The hiking trails, which began in the property's backyard, connected to a 100 mile trail across numerous mountain peaks. The peope in the town of Westcliffe were wonderful and welcoming. Even the drive through the mountains to and from the cabin was pleasant. There is nothing negative to say about this cabin, the property manager, nor the surrounding area. We will book this cabin again in the near future.

The Magical Cabin has it all!
This was our second time staying here and it did not disappoint! Perfect place for our family of 6. We had a pretty active schedule planned with hiking and viewing the fall foliage. Even when plans changed last minute, kids still had a great time occupying themselves in the cabin. Deck in the late afternoon with the sun setting behind the Sangre de Cristo mountains is perfect for relaxing with a beer or other beverage of choice. Can’t wait for visit number three, perhaps spring 2023!

Looking for a post-family wedding place not too far from Denver to rest and enjoy friends. This place was absolutely ideal. Driving west through the valley into the mountains, we could appreciate the Wet Mountain views behind us as the aspens began to enshroud us on a well maintained dirt road. The cabin is indeed magical, perched in a very private, small meadow overlooking those Wet Mountains to the east of the home. We would sit in front of a two story wall of windows and watch the trees shimmer in the rain as if it were a sport. This was such a beautiful, well thought out, well appointed home. Cleaned and prepped to perfection, with a well stocked kitchen and bathroom. The bed was so comfortable and linens were top quality. There is a route out back to lots of hiking and shopping is a 15 minute drive to the cute town of Westcliffe. Sad to say goodbye!! A true gem!

As good as it gets....
This property is in a mountain meadow, isolated from view of any other homes or the sounds of traffic. It is a place to be when you want to be able to just be alone in nature. The peace of the place is unsurpassed and the easy access to the Rainbow Trail from the property means once you're there - you don't have to get in the car again until you have to leave. While it is secluded, it is easy to get to the property on good level roads, so no need for a high clearance vehicle. We were here last fall and knew our friends would also love the setting and we were right! We'll return again in the fall to see the aspens in their full glory. It truly is a magical cabin and Peter is excellent in clear, timely communications.

This may be the nicest VRBO at which I’ve ever stayed. Super easy check in. Squeaky clean. Spacious. Comfortable beds. Super absorbent and soft towels. An amazing deck and telescope to enjoy. And some amazing extras like a few snacks for guests and a well appointed kitchen and pantry. It was an absolute delight. We will definitely stay here again. It made our long weekend in Westcliffe just perfect.

We Traveled From Florida to Westcliffe For Vacation And It Was Wonderful!! The House Was Located In A Beautiful Setting at the base of the mountains. It was very well stocked with everything we needed to enjoy our week's stay. There were plenty of items in the kitchen to cook all of our dinners in. The bedrooms were very clean and comfortable. The house was very beautiful and clean. The view from all the windows was amazing.!! We we're excited to see a lot of Wildlife out all of the windows. Just a short drive to the town of Westcliff for a farmers market, bowling, and a few nice little restaurants. The owners made it very welcoming!! It was the best vacation we had ever had and all of us are hoping to do it again one day and hoping to come back to the same rental

Quiet Mountain Getaway
We couldn't have asked for a better getaway for the family. Morning yoga on the back deck, a hike to Texas Creek and beyond, and a wedding at the Historic Pines Ranch less than a mile down the hill. Wonderful stay and wonderful hosts. Highly recommend this property!

Such a special place!
My family and I traveled to Westcliffe for a wedding and stayed in Peter’s house. The house is tucked away down a long dirt road. The drive in is spectacular. The house was extremely clean with everything you would need. We traveled with our 7 month old and having the crib already there was extremely helpful and appreciated. Our 5 year old daughter loved all the games, toys and books provided. The views from the house are breathtaking. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this rental!

Everything about our rental was awesome! Fit us just perfectly. Kids were able to play in the snow as much they wanted. Westcliffe was as accessible as we needed. House was plenty warm with both stoves and wall heaters. Lots of games to play if that is your thing (our kids liked Battleship). We were a Family of 6 and the house was very comfortable for us. Owner was easy to reach after we discovered a slight issue with the melting snow. Response was quick and the workers were very friendly. Hoping to book again in the summer/fall to hike the Sangre de Cristos! Can’t wait to go back!

Fantastic property
We had an amazing time at this house. What a beautiful property! The pictures do not give it justice. Pete has thought of everything and made our entire family feel at home. He was very responsive to any questions. More than the essentials were provided, like special roasting sticks for s’mores. The kitchen has everything you need to make meals. The gravel road to the property is well maintained. It feels remote which is exactly what we wanted. At the same time, it was an easy and beautiful 20 minute drive to Westcliffe. In August, our minivan handled the road without any problem. We hiked the Rainbow Trail right off the backyard. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it highly to others.
