Herfst in New England - Stille warme stranden, herfstbladeren

Rustige en ontspannen vakantieplek nog steeds dicht bij alle voorzieningen halverwege tussen de stad en de stranden, luister naar de wind in de bomen de hele dag regen of zonneschijn vanaf een grote veranda voor drie seizoenen. Dit huis is niet luxueus, maar comfortabel, zeer geliefd en ontspannend. Halverwege tussen de hoofdstraat in het centrum of Westerly en 5 stranden (Napatree, East Beach, Watch Hill-strand, Misquamicut State Beach en Wuskenau). De zomer komt met strandpas naar het strand van Wuskenau, inclusief parkeergelegenheid. Absoluut geen dieren, zelfs kleine dieren vanwege dodelijke allergieën.

Gelegen in Westerly RI Dit charmante cape is 3. 5 mijl van Misquamicut Beach en de stranden van Watch Hill Rhode Island. In de buurt van golf, kajakverhuur en op 1,6 km van het centrum van Westerly's schilderachtige stad Mainstreet America in New England met het beroemde Wilcox Park, Granite Street Theatre, Shakespeare in the Park, RiverFire en meer. Dit huis is in de perfecte plek voor het verkennen van New Engeland-45 minuten naar Newport en Providence en casino's. 15 minuten naar Stonington CT vissersdorp. 20 minuten naar Mystic CT. Reis 30 minuten noordwaarts over route 1A om de vissersdorpen van Galilea, Point Judith en meer te verkennen. 1 1/2 uur naar het hart van Boston. 3 uur naar New York City. Neem 20 minuten de veerboot in New London CT naar het beroemde Block Island of reis verder naar Martha's Vineyard - allemaal dichtbij genoeg voor een dagje uit.


Sfeer: dit huisje is niet luxueus, het is zeer geliefd. Het is een rustiek huisje in de buurt van alles dat mijn familie jarenlang heeft gebruikt als een flophuis dat van en naar het strand gaat. Het heeft alle originele houten kasten en charme van een huisje in New England in een kustplaats. Dit is het soort plek waar mijn familie graag zegt: 'Het is prima om het zand van het strand naar de keuken te volgen', waar we de hele dag op de veranda met de kinderen spelen, naar muziek luisteren, grillen en verhalen vertellen. Elke kamer is voorzien van een ventilator. Eenpersoonskamers hebben airconditioning. We maken vuren in de open haard op koele lente / herfstavonden. We hopen dat je er net zoveel van zult genieten als wij.

Another Lovely Week

Once again, we loved our time in this cozy cottage. The space is clean and comfortable. There’s plenty of space and extras such as plenty of towels and kitchen spices that you may have forgotten. The location is very convenient. This week was the holiday and there were triple the number of people out than we normally see on our now 5th vacation to Westerly. Still, we had no issue with beach parking on the 4th of July and a lovely time was had by all. Plenty to do: bowling, shopping in Mystic/Westerly/Watch Hill, beaching, a day trip to Salem & to Providence, drive in at Misquamicut beach. We love and adore this house and are so thankful Anne was able to accommodate us. Btw, if you are concerned about lack of central air, don’t be. Fans kept us cool downstairs and the window a/c was absolutely icey cold at night. Thank you, Anne!!

Charming & Comfortable Cottage

This cottage is absolutely adorable. It’s kitchen is fully stocked with everything you’d need for a stay. We cooked all of our meals here. We loved cooking dinner in and then going down to St Clair for an ice cream cone to watch the sunset over the bay and then taking a little night walk on East beach. Temps were in the high 70s all week and the house was very cool and comfortable. I’m very high maintenance but found the window air conditioners in all bedrooms to be more than ample. The house is in a quiet area that feels quite safe, very close to Stop N Shop. We spent one rainy day in Mystic Ct at the aquarium which did not disappoint. The home was very clean with no offensive odors or areas. We used the basement bathroom as a clean off from the beach and had no issues. The house has much of its original features which I found to be so refreshing and charming. I am desperate to get back to this house next summer. It was positively perfect, as was the beach pass. Anne was most hospitable. Loved this house so so so much.

Needs some work

The first and second floors were fine, but the basement where the 2nd bathroom is was very dingy and musty smelling. We had great difficulty with the outside doors not opening/locking correctly. One of us got locked out. After back and forth messages and calls, the problem was not remedied so we reached agreement to leave 3 days into our 8 day planned stay. While the property owner was cooperative in refunding her portion, we have had great difficulty with VRBO in refunding their portion and the state taxes. I have been on the phone with them 3 times totaling over 1 1/2 hours with still no resolution.

Peaceful and spacious home near to beach

This is a lovely house in Westerly. It's well equipped and has lots of space to enjoy. Beautiful gardens front and back and a nice porch. We had a very enjoyable time. It's got all you need, great laundry room and spacious kitchen. No dishwasher as stated, which was not a problem for us. Bathrooms were functional and the downstairs one worked well for post beach showers.

I loved the creeks, smells, feel of the house, and even the "creepy" (as my wife put it) basement; it reminded me of when I would visit the New England area when I was a kid. We cooked several meals and were happy with the kitchen supplies. Plenty of room to stretch out.

Wonderful house in a relaxing beach town.

This lovely, comfortable house was a wonderful place for our stay in Westerly. Its spaciousness was most welcomed for our family of four, especially when one wanted to nap while the others played. The location was in close proximity to beaches, restaurants, grocery stores, town center, etc.. It was also equipped with pretty much everything you could need for a vacation home. We especially enjoyed the back porch both as a place to do some light business work and a place for meals throughout the day. Anne, the owner, was easy to reach and very accommodating. Thank you so much!

Great location and outdoor space!

We were a group of 5 friends in town for the weekend and can’t say enough about how great the location is. You are within 5-10 minutes of the grocery store, beach, Watch Hill, and downtown Westerly. The house was very clean with tons of space, and we spent most of the time on the back porch which was lovely. The kitchen was well stoked with all of the essentials. Just like the reviews say, the house is not luxury but has everything you need. Our host Anne was very responsive and flexible for our needs - thank you!

We had a wonderful stay and the house was just as described. Cozy, homey, bit dated. We loved the patio! Anne, the owner, was so quick to respond with any questions. The house was in the perfect location for us right in between the beach and downtown …and took advantage of both! Also made a couple trips down to Mystic. We would absolutely stay again.

Great Location Great Labels

The perfect location for a girls’ weekend with my college friends! Close to fun things and great space for being around each other while also having space if we needed a break. Pros: Lots of beds, well-stocked kitchen, loads of books/games, excellent seating areas outside, loads of seating inside, and the labels of everything! Loved it. Cons: No nonstick pan, the bathroom in the basement was scary to use, the hedges at the end of the driveway made it really difficult to exit onto the street.

Close to Watch Hill

We enjoyed our stay here. The house is as described: a 1950s cape, not fancy, but it is clean and has everything you need (but no dishwasher). It is on a fairly busy main road but has a nice big quiet back yard. The location is great, near many beaches and we had plenty to do like kayaking and spending time at the beach.
