'Nice people on the reception offering walking guides just to use as soon as we told we were planning to do some walking in the Lake District. The rooms were spaceous and very clean. In the morning on request freshly baken croissants or oatmeal During the evenings we used the DVD service for free. You can pick one and play a movie in the room.'

'Second stay at Elder Grove, and loved it as much as the first time! Super clean and comfortable. I slept well every night, and breakfast was wonderful. Be sure to try the Orange Marmalade, it’s outstanding! On top of everything else the staff was warm and welcoming. The service was excellent. I highly recommend!'

'The room was clean and the breakfast was good The only issue was the stairs to the room as our room was on the 3 floors there were a lot of stairs to climb and we both OAP which was very tiring. On the hold it was a good experience but we would not stay again due to the stairs.'

'Property staff were going arm and welcoming. The inn is dated and not exceptionally maintained. There were loose fittings, mold in bathrooms and the curtains were missing some hooks and drooped a bit. The location and setting were classic, but for the cost the quality lagged a bit.'

'We were returning customers to Low wood bay @ the winander club. We were slightly disappointed to see that spa access was no longer included in Winander rooms but it is a beautiful spa, so we paid the extra £140. We were disappointed to find out if you wanted to borrow some slippers for the spa, they were also chargeable now. And on check out I was very shocked to see they were also now charging £12 per day to park your car if you hadn’t booked directly with them. I don’t think I’ve ever stayed...

'Excellent property with high standard of finish and decoration. Very warm despite the cold weather outside. The “Welcome Pack” was a great and welcome surprise which is a definite plus compared to other rentals in this area. Master bedroom had a superb en suite plus a great view of Loughrigg Brow. Everything was great and we can’t wait to return. '

'The check in information did not arrive in time and it took 15 min to call and sort things out. Otherwise, there is no complaint on the property. Street parking with permit, it sometimes needs luck to find a nearby parking space.'
