Gerestaureerd uit een 14e-eeuwse Pele-toren en met mooie historische kenmerken. Geweldig voor grote groepen met gazons, een speelkamer en een fietsenwinkel. . Begane grond:
Keuken / eetkamer: met 2 elektrische ovens, inductiekookplaat, magnetron, koelkast, vriezer en vaatwasser.
Bijkeuken: met wasmachine en droger.
Spelkamer: met tafeltennis en een selectie van kinderspeelgoed.
Garderobe: met toilet.

Woonkamer: met open haard, Freeview-tv en dvd-speler.
Slaapkamer 1: met een tweepersoonsbed.

Voor een vakantie met een verschil is Whitehall Pele Tower een heerlijk sfeervolle 14de-eeuwse Pele-toren die een schitterende omgeving biedt voor een grote familie of groep, perfect gelegen voor het verkennen van het Lake District en de kust van Solway. Graad I vermeld, het huis is al 150 jaar in handen van dezelfde familie en heeft een lange en fascinerende geschiedenis. Een aanvulling op het oorspronkelijke gebouw werd gemaakt in de 16e eeuw en de eerste restauratie werd gemaakt in 1861, nadat het was gekocht door de handelaar en filantroop George Moore. Whitehall Pele Tower heeft alle voordelen van het moderne leven, met behoud van het oorspronkelijke karakter. Het huis staat op een hectare grond met de pittoreske ruïnes van een Victoriaans herenhuis. Twee van de grotere grasvelden kunnen worden gebruikt voor familiespellen. In het huis zijn ruime kamers, waaronder een woonkamer op de eerste verdieping met een enorme openhaard in Tudor-stijl, met uitzicht op de rustige weilanden. Het terrein is vol met vogels en het landschap van de Noord-meren ligt binnen handbereik. Bassenthwaite Lake, 7 mijl. Bezoekerscentrum Whinlatter, Altura Mountain Bike Trail en Go Ape, 17 mijl. Cockermouth, 10 mijl. Hadrian's Wall, 16 miles. Keswick, 16 mijl. Ullswater, 26 mijl. Winkels en restaurant 4 mijl, pub 2 mijl.

We spent Halloween 2024 at Whitehall Pele tower to celebrate our paranormal teams (S.P.I.R.I.T UK-Solway Paranormal) 10th anniversary. Every year we spend our anniversary night in an historically rich location and Whitehall, with its history and its mention in several local legends was perfect. Very spacious, modern, yet still holding onto its old world atmosphere. Its just a shame we only stayed for the one night as it would take several to take in everything this beautiful place has to offer. Would thoroughly recommend, especially if you love peace and quiet.

We had a wonderful stay at Whitehall Pele Tower. It felt like a real treat as the building has a stately feeling and the kids loved exploring the grounds. It was spacious enough to relax on a wet day and felt like a good base to head into the Lakes. The beds were comfortable and pleased to report they now have a king sized bed in the bedroom (there may also be a king sized in the other bedroom but I didn't sleep in there and can't remember!) The kitchen is well equipped and there were even bowls for the dog. The house was always warm and everything was very straight, tidy and clean when we arrived. My only nit picky point was they'd missed cleaning the fridge and bread bin and some areas in the top floor bathroom. Overall, we had a fabulous stay and we'd definitely go again. Whitehall is an impressive and spacious building in an interesting part of Cumbria. It is located in a quiet spot and is surrounded by a nice garden. The property is quite a distance from local amenities and it lacked a couple of things that one tends to get in holiday cottages (e.g. welcome pack, hair dryer). The equipment was generally very good and the cottage was comfortable, but there were one or two items that needed repair, such as the doors on the older shower. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay despite the poor early September weather.

We had an amazing weekend break.

We had an amazing weekend break. We were blown away by the size of the house and found the history of it very interesting. The furniture is in keeping with the house and there is everything and more that you could need in the house. The children and grown ups enjoyed playing hide and seek plus there is the added bonus if the games room which that too had endless supplies of toys and games. We liked where the house was situated out of the way but close enough to be able to drive to Keswick and the surrounding area. The bedding was all clean and smelt lovely and fresh. My only suggestion for the house would be to have king size beds as we found them too small. The beds were very comfy but to small for us. With the bedrooms being on the larger size it would not compromise on the space. Both families absolutely loved it and we are already booked for next year.

From then minute we arrived we loved Whitehall it just keeps on giving , the Tower is full of history through the information left to read , pictures on the walls and walking around you can feel it. If I could make one request it would be a kingsize bed ? in the first floor bedroom my husband is 6 2” and he would of preferred a bigger bed ... this is not a criticism just a wish. The grounds are simply beautiful filled with history and nothing but bird song , there is more than enough space outside to enjoy. The weather which was a bonus for us it certainly helped us enjoy the outside space more there is a area behind the Tower which is flat so perfect for outside fun especially with children. We enjoyed Whitehall so much we rebooked for the same week in 2020
