Horrible experience... so much potential!!
I was looking forward to wonderful weekend away but the hotel just does not live up to its pictures, maybe it did 10 years ago. The hotel needs a serious refurb as well as the grounds of the hotel. The pool is definitely not this clean and blue as in the pictures anymore - it needs a paint job and a proper clean. The bed I slept in made such a noise when you moved, it was terrible. The carpets were so marked, it was gross. The whole experience staying at the hotel freaked me out and I wont be returning. Some of the staff were really helpful, especially at breakfast but is so sad they have to work at a hotel that is literally falling apart. The hotel has so much potential, being where they are situated, right by the ocean but I wouldn't recommend staying here to anyone. So sad.

Beautiful Widerness
Rooms were clean. Staff friendly. Stayed on the ground floor with easy access to beach. Beautiful and convenient setting. Beach is also prestine with interesting rock pools and good fishing close by. Plenty to do in the area.

We could check in from 2pm, but when we arrived at 3pm our room wasn't completely ready. No pillowcases on the one bed and even though we'd booked for 4 people there were only 2 towels provided. The TV channels weren't working and it took a day and a half for maintenance to be called to fix it. (In fairness once he was called the maintenance guy was friendly and sorted it out quite quickly) The shower leaked quite badly and there's no extractor fan in the bathroom - also there was very little cold water pressure. Every morning breakfast was chaotic. The hotel seems to have insufficient parking so we had to park quite far away which was quite inconvenient with our toddler and baby. It's situated really nicely close to the beach but the outdoor shower is broken so you end up walking sand back into the hotel. There isn't much security at this hotel that we could see either - it's incredibly easy to just walk around and into the pool area and from there into the hotel.

Halal option in the Garden Route.
A beautiful location. The hotel is a bit dated but is an excellent option to explore the garden route from. Nice breakfast. Halal food services.

So disappointing. Pictures on website deceiving. Out-of-control school touring groups making noise all night.Smelly. Everything very run down. Totally disappointing. Stayed only 1 night then checked out early. Did not even stay for breakfast.

Good Day Cathi Trust this mail finds you well. We did advise all our guests prior to arrival that we will have sports groups in-house for the time frame of your stay. I sent emails to each and every guest booked in this time. Your arrival date was 05 April and I emailed you on 13 March to state that should you wish to cancel we will understand. I do however wish you had spoken to management at reception regarding your other complaints and we would most definitely have tried to work out something and assist you wherever we could. Brilliant situation
Ran out of fruit, Honey, Marmalade and coffee. We asked for ordinary day to day items which we were told were out of stock. They were every day and the staff were unhelpful. They were not trained and there appeared to be no supervision. There were few guests--never more tun 20 out of 150 rooms. Most were of Chinese origin on bus tours of the Garden Route. Their were no facilities in the hotel that worked at all.

A shocker
Hotel needs attention: poor maintenance and in need of a general overhaul. Lights and extraction fan not working, tv fuzzy, no wireless connection in rooms, no sign of security and general management. Photographs on web page misleading. Avoid at all costs.

TERRIBLE SERVICE - BY INCOMPETENT STAFF
As I love visiting the Wilderness, this was by far the worst ever hotel that I have booked. Staff has absolutely no consideration for you their guests, noise level was terrible, room was full of bugs, no tv remote supplied, no bath mat, no hand towel, had to practically beg for an extra toilet roll.....I will never consider booking this hotel again, I also think Hotels.com should consider removing them from your site. Unless you don't mind having such an incompetent hotel added to your list......what should have been a relaxing stay turned into a miserable seven days......SAD !!!!!! A tiny, bad smelling, damp little room is where you will find Wi-Fi facilities....what a laugh!

Schöne Lage eines in die Jahre gekommenen Baus
Buchung und Rezeption funktionieren tadellos und sehr unkompliziert. Das Hotel selbst ist allerdings ein in die Jahre gekommener Betonklotz, der von der guten Lage und der glänzenderen Vergangenheit lebt. Für Gleitschirmflieger ist die Unterkunft genial, da man bei passendem Seewind direkt am Hotelrasen starten und landen kann, also quasi aus dem Bett in die Luft. Neutral als Hotel betrachtet sonst nicht unbedingt empfehlenswert.

The welcoming was not ok according to my understanding we were supposed to be told about the facilities of the hotel,meals available to purchase and about surrounding erea if we want to go out of the hotel so all in all we had to ask everything ourself so the service was not ok at all.

値段は安く、しかも朝食まで付いていて家族には助かります。 朝食は美味しかったです。 夕食は、簡単な食事のみで、レストラン内で食べるかルームサービスで食べるかという珍しい形でした。ちなみに料金は同じ。ルームサービスでのんびり食べました。 Wi-Fiはレセプションとレストランのみです。 繁盛期なのか、人手不足だった?チェックイン後、部屋に案内する人がいなかったり、ちょうど清掃が終わったところだったり。部屋に入ると、水周りは水臭かったです。また、タオルは2人ぶんしかなかったため、お願いしましたが、今洗っているところで、一つしかないと、小さいタオルを受け取って終わってしまいました。 我が家はコストパフォーマンスと部屋から出ると海が見え、ビーチへの階段も目の前なので、いいかなという感じでした。

Avoid this Hotel
Hotel could not find booking took 1/2 hr to check in at 6 pm. Clean towels only brought to room at 11.15pm. Air con not working. Lift not working . Corridors dirty. Everything very old and tired. Sadly can not recommend at all.

Never will we stay at Wilderness beach Hotel again. When we booked in at 14h30 we waited more then a hour for our room and keys. When we got to our room at 15h30. The room was not ready. No towels. We phoned 3 times for towels and only received it the next morning after 9.There advertising is false. No satellite channels or a remote for the TV. They say they clean the rooms daily which they either do like half and late or not at all. During our stay the passage was full of dirty dishes from room service standing outside the rooms. The kitchen where they serve breakfast is dirty and some of the cutlery and crockery is not properly washed and dried. No dishing spoons for cheese or bread, guests take it with there hands. The hotel is in poor condition broken doors and desperately needs a revamp. Definitely not worth the 3 stars. Would never recommend anyone to stay here.

No, no, no, not this hotel
Fraud, nothing stated in description is true; hotel is not mainained since my last visit in 2004. Hotel is falling appart; AC not working, tv not working, elevator not working, beds are terrible, bad service, no towels and hostile reception. Stay far away!

We're told when we booked that they were waiting for their liqour license to come through, only to find out when we arrived that they are a Muslim owned hotel and, by choice, do not serve alcohol. I have no problem with that, but would like to know when booking (On the Expedia website, it states that you can enjoy a cocktail or sundowner in the restaurant or by the pool. No mention that you would have to bring your own!) Hotel was dated and understaffed. Staff were very hardworking and tried hard to accommodate but we're not supported by the owners who seem intent on draining every last penny out of this hotel. Breakfast was mayhem with not enough food, cutlery and crockery for the numbers. Rooms were basic, with a deposit required for TV remote?????. Air conditioning units were nearly all out of order, as were the lifts. I really hope an experienced investor takes over this hotel as the setting is beautiful and undeserving of this poorly run hotel, which, in all honesty, should be nowhere near the Expedia website until they inject a little more honest into their advertising!

Nightmare in Paradise
The worst hotel Ive ever stayed in!!! not even worthy of 1 star. rooms are dirty and havent been redecorated since the 90's, beds are old and broken. air conditioning doesnt work. Service is nonexistent. The staff and management were totally incompetent. The setting however is magnificent, absolutely world class!! and an absolute must visit!!! Just (whatever you do) Dont Stay Here!!
