Booked a few days out from the weekend we planned. Received only instructions to go to the front desk to get keys 2pm the day of arrival. Drove over 4 hrs with the whole family in the car ready to relax only to find out there was no booking , couldn’t get ahold of the owner. Called VRBO customer service and absolutely struggled to understand the representative assigned. Was told to give the confirmation number from our reservation email… it’s not working… they do not have it , kept saying this but that’s all they told us to do . The receptionist said they have had multiple issues with VRBO using their resort location as a VRBO when the location is a timeshare. It caused over 1 hr of disruption to our night as the communication was extremely difficult. I asked to speak to a supervisor however after a long hold just came back to the same representative. The only benefit was being able to get a full refund however had to ask the representative to slow down and speak clearly to fully understand what he was doing so we wouldn’t end up in further delays of what his resolution was. It’s absolutely unacceptable to have to pay the same location or any other location out of pocket more money due to waiting 1-2 weeks for the refund. Your company needs to make better rules for the owners to be aware of their timeshare booking and management as it’s false advertising to offer all year round booking for a timeshare- especially when our booking was not even in the system… explain that!
