Great time in the lakes
Really enjoyed our time at Laurel Cottage. Perfectly situated, close to windermere centre, but in a quiet residential area. Small double room was snug, but very comfortable. Hosts very friendly. Always on hand when needed. And tbe breakfast was top notch. Would happily recommend. Thank you

Another pleasant stay
Our second visit to Laurel Cottage, this time in a different room, which was once again clean, tidy and comfortable. The owners are friendly and run the property very well. Just a short walk into Windermere but Bowness is still a manageable 20 minute stroll. You will be well looked after at Laurel Cottage which is highly recommended.

Great Stay
Really nice B&B right in the centre of Windermere. Owners could not be more helpful. I Fully recommend it to future guests. Breakfast was amazing. We had a great stay.

Pleasant Stay
We stayed in room 3 which was spacious for a B&B and it was clean with some nice touches and a comfy bed Hosts were very pleasant and cope well with Covid issues in force, serving an excellent breakfast choice. It’s situated in a pleasant area just off the main drag, and parking wasn’t an issue. A good choice for a Windermere stay.

Nice bed & breakfast. Lovely bright airy room overlooking the park and front garden. Comfortable bed and shower room. Nice furnishings. More than adequate breakfast. Advantage of use of small fridge to keep own drinks cool and the use of the dining room if you wanted a takeaway meal. Hosts attentive but not intrusive. Short walk into Windermere village and about 20 mins walk into Bowness. Very pleasant stay for a few days enjoying the local area.

Nice room and Nice people
Really nice breakfast withs a special board that is different everyday. Gluten free option available. Was a really nice stay. Got given a map to borrow for the day with suggested walks which made it easier for us. Thanks would stay here again

Fantastic hosts. Really helpful, very friendly and good local knowledge. Breakfasts were amazing - good choice of cooked and continental. Home made granola, yogurt. jams and vegetarian sausages. Room was cleaned every day and bed was great. Tastefully decorated. Thanks for lending us the maps.

Perfectly homely environment
It was totally worth. Room was small but clean, friendly environment with good breakfast. Nothing I can complain and definitely choose it next time

Lovely B&B
The B&B is well situated about 5 mins walk from the centre of Windermere, in the direction of the lake (20 mins walk). The room was lovely and the owners are very friendly and helpful, plus breakfast was great! Alison's homemade banana bread is amazing! They have lots of good tips on where to go as well which was handy. Would stay there again!

Excellent b&b
What a lovely place. Warm, welcoming, comfortable, and friendly. Best bed I’ve ever slept in... I would love one at home. Excellent breakfast. Lovely walk to Windermere and Bowness-on-Windermere.... and umbrellas were ready by the door to borrow.

Relaxing weekend in Windermere
We had a lovely long weekend staying at Laurel Cottage. The room was cosy and clean with an excellent view over the hills. We enjoyed the home cooked breakfast every morning (including homemade yoghurt and granola!) - the special breakfast of smoked haddock and poached eggs on our last morning was delicious. Wayne and Alison were welcoming and friendly hosts - we appreciated the advice planning our walk over Wansfell and the generous loan of a waterproof map! We look forward to staying again :)

Cosy room at top of property. Excellent breakfasts.Only gripe is that the loo dual flush needs fixing and no extract fan for the ensuite shower - have to leave window open.

Wonderful holiday
We spent five nights in this beautiful house. Our room was excellent with locally produced tea, coffee and toiletries rather than the more common brands seen elsewhere. The daily breakfast choices included homemade granola as well as a daily cooked special if you wanted something different from the excellent full English or eggs on muffins to give a couple of examples. Our hosts were a lovely couple with great knowledge of the surrounding area. They were even kind enough to lend us maps and advise on good routes when I expressed an interest in hillwalking but explained that I had little experience. The location was ideal being very quiet but only a couple of minutes walk from the town centre from where you could pick up a bus or wander down to the ferry terminal to explore the area further. Although we don’t have a pet, the hotel is dog friendly and has a couple of rooms where dogs are allowed. The en suit was lovely with good pressure in the shower even though we were in the top room. There is free WIFI and a television. I would really love to return sometime soon for another visit.

Great B&B with good location
Staff were very welcoming and quick to help with directions and local knowledge. Room was lovely, very spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was very nice, homemade yoghurt and granola with fruit and cereals. Cooked English breakfast was an option too and was very tasty. Good location to be able to walk to Windermere centre. Overall exceeded expectations.
