Our road trip started well, and we were pleasantly surprised by what appeared to be a beautiful home despite concerns raised in the property’s only other review.Unfortunately, several issues affected our stay. Some problems noted in the previous review were still present, including non-functioning fan remotes. We were also given an incorrect door code and had to call multiple times before receiving one that worked. The biggest issue was the thermostat. Although the host adjusted it after we contacted them, it repeatedly reset overnight to 22.5C, making the house uncomfortably warm. We contacted the host several times, but after the second reset our message went unanswered. Only after checkout, we were told instructions were in the welcome message, yet we were never directed to them during our stay despite repeatedly asking for help. The television was also difficult to use due to the lack of a working remote and eventually stopped working altogether. Because we were checking out within 24 hours, we were told it would not be repaired. The host also insinuated we caused the problem, which was disappointing and condescending. Although the property is advertised as pet-friendly, we found five ant traps on the floors that specially said to keep away from animals and had to be removed so our dogs couldn’t access them.Overall, the home was comfortable, but the thermostat issues, television problems, communication, and accessible ant traps negatively affected our stay.
