Property Not Ready for Renters
Lovely brand new home, BUT the house was so new, it was nowhere ready for renters. The drive way had just been poured the day we arrived, so we had to park our vehicle in the mud, as the landscaping had not yet been done. Very narrow planks were placed on the mud (Manitoba gumbo!) in order to get to the front door. It was impossible not to step in the gumbo with our luggage, so our shoes were VERY dirty when we got to the front door. Once inside, there was not a hanger in any closet in which to hang our jackets or clothes. There were very few of the basic necessities you'd expect in a rental home. The kitchen was not well stocked - No spices of any kind, no sugar, no paper towels. We were a group of 5 adults and 2 kids. There were 2 spoons, 4 forks and 4 knives in the kitchen drawers. There was one soap for the dishwasher, no plug for the kitchen sink and not one dish towel. Out of the four bedrooms, one of the beds only had sheets. No blankets or comforter. The bedroom lamps had no bulbs, so they were useless and two of the three bedrooms had no hand soap. We also found a dirty pair of socks in the main bedroom closet. Bathroom towels were in the dryer when we arrived. No instructions on how to access Wi-Fi. When I messaged the host about needing basic kitchen items and access to Wi-Fi, I finally was told where to find the Wi-Fi password 13-14 hours later, but nothing else. The unfinished basement was dangerous as there were boards with nails sticking out of them.
