Little Cottage in the Pines
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage on Chewuch River. The cottage was perfect for my husband and I to relax and get out hiking each day. We enjoy the quiet sounds of the river/creek. The cottage was perfect for a quiet couples getaway.

Nestled in the woods...

Quiet and peaceful, and a bit cozy.
Nice location. The kitchen is pretty small- no oven except a microwave. The bed is a queen and comfortable if a bit small. The instruction booklet needs to be updated as the pages were falling out of the book and somewhat confusing. We did not use the fireplace but the heaters kept the cabin warm. There is a larger rental on the property. It was not occupied when we were there but could be an issue if it was a noisy , large group.

Just what it needed to be
It is perfect for two people who want to spend most of their vacation enjoying the great outdoors and what Winthrop has to offer. It is a little studio type addition on the back of the garage of a larger primary house that is also rented out. If cooking big gourmet meals while on vacation is your jam, you should probably look for a different place. The kitchen is tiny but serviceable -- half size fridge, minimal counter space. We enjoyed fine dining at Sun Mountain and Arrow Leaf with just a few simple meals at home so no complaints! The cozy wood stove was a necessity with below zero temps and all sorts of blankets and a comfy bed were there to warm up in after a day of snow shoeing. Wifi was nice as the day was dark and at an end by 4PM! Close in to town which was helpful in snowy and icy weather.

Peaceful valley
Very cute studio cabin on a wonderful river. Great appliances, shower, etc. our only problem was we are not good sleepers & needed 2 beds😨. I slept on hard couch with back cushions not removable so very narrow. We later learned there was a little bunk house with a bed🙃. Other than sleeping discomfort all was wonderful.

Charming studio cottage
The cottage was charming, very clean and welcoming. Good knives and pots and pans in the kitchen (yes--that matters to me). We would rent it again.

Sweet spot!
This was a perfect spot for two people on a cross country ski weekend. There is a kitchen to prepare meals, a cozy wood stove at the end of the day, and it was walking distance to downtown. We had a great time and would stay here again.

Pretty much everything two people need for a few days. We broke through the two feet of snow and made it to the river...gorgeous. I can see that it would be lovely to hang outside in Summmer!

Loved our stay! Such a cute space, with everything you could need. New couch and tv were great additions, we started a fire our 2nd night for a cozy night in. Less than a 5 minute drive to town. Would definitely come back!

Cozy, Peaceful Cabin
I loved the coziness of the cabin in a beautiful, peaceful setting along the river. The cabin warmed quickly after I arrived with the electric heat, and the wood stove was nice but not really necessary. Be prepared to share your space with tiny ants swarming the walls, shower and sink in the bathroom. Fortunately they are not interested in food in the kitchen!

We liked the cabin cozy had every thing available east access location to town
Would strongly recommend to have home some what heated we arrived no heat on took 3-4 hrs to get at comfort room heat 17 degrees out side 35-40 in home very cold .We could not get ahold of the the contact people when we arrived for questions still never herd back from them but over are we enjoyed our stay cozy very nice .

perfect get-away cabin
we loved it here. can't wait to come back. we did have the entire property to ourselves, nobody was staying in the large house immediately next door. wifi and cell service was fine, we were able to stream shows/movies on personal device. My only suggestion is that the windows could use a washing.

Not What we expected
The cabin was very remote. The property had some lights but they were motion activated and took a long time to turn on! The shower was dirty and over run with ants ....dead and alive! No TV or oven! The furniture in the living area was old and stained. Would not recommend this place to stay!

Cynthia, the homeowner would like to pass along the following message: "I'm sorry to hear the cabin was not what you expected. It's 1.4 miles to town so while it has a remote feel to it, it's still very close to town and we've found that most of our guests choose our property for this reason. I'm sorry to hear that you had an issue with the motion sensor lights as well. I've recently visited the property and have ensured that they are working correctly and future guests should not have any further issues with it. The shower had been cleaned by the housekeeper a few days before your arrival and at that time there were not any ants. I understand that this must have been unpleasant and I apologize for the inconvenience. We'll get on that right away. We also mention on the listing that we don’t have a TV or an oven at the property so that travelers can decide if it's the right home for them, prior to booking, but we're sorry this caught you off guard. The bed and linens are new and immaculate, however, the couch will soon be getting its upholstery cleaned. Fun getaway
This cabin is very nice and quaint. Close to the adorable town and the cabins setting near the river is beautiful! We had a hard time sleeping as we stayed in the middle of summer and the cabin was really HOT. They do have 2 fans. But the fan that sits near the bed sounds like an airplane motor ;) so it was be hot and no sleep or run the loud fan and no sleep. I think had we stay again we will go in the Fall ;)

Nice little spot
My wife and I very much enjoyed this little rental which lived up to the description. The cabin/MIL is well appointed and spacious for a couple, and the river is lovely. The small kitchen met expectations and the Internet is spotty- which also is mentioned, no big deal when you are relaxing in the Methow. All in all it’s a fair price for the location and ammenities and very peaceful. There was a group in the large house the first night but we barely saw them and hardly noticed they were there- having a separate private area on the river just for the cabin is a very nice touch. A few bugs and things around but that’s to be expected in the woods. Good spot!

Would have given it 5 stars....
Really cute house, nice interior decor, kitchen was ample. My two main issues were: getting the heat to the correct temperature & the bed was way to soft. When I arrived it was freezing and I could not get the temperature warm enough to be comfortable for two days. Luckily the bed was super warm. The issue is that it takes the electric heaters a long time to heat up the space. We even supplemented it with the wood fire stove, but that didn't help much. Finally on the third day it was comfortable. If the managers would turn on the heat prior to guests arriving, this would help a great deal. As I said, the bed was super warm, but it was to soft. Granted, we do like a firm mattress, so the bed might be fine for those that like a softer mattress. There were guests in the main house during our stay, but they were super quiet and it wasn't apparent they were there. So, if the heat and the bed situation were different this rating would be a 5 star.

Nice, quaint getaway. Plenty of deer for the wife to ogle over
Easy to find location. Clean and inviting. Had a great trip overall. The toilet didn’t work the first night we got there, but I used to be a plumber so I fixed it and carried on with the trip, no biggie. I know you don’t advertise one, but a $200 smart tv and Netflix would make a world of difference, and I think would bring repeat business more often. Beautiful property

Nice and we enjoyed our stay
It was a nicely furnished place and we were very comfortable. We were a little frustrated with the directions given. I think it would be better to tell people to turn left at the 4 way stop in town and follow that street to Sunset Ln. At first we couldn't figure out which of the buildings we were staying in. We were told it was some-thing-or-other cottage, but there were no names. The directions for checking out were also frustrating. We were told to load and run the dishwasher. There is no dishwasher with the unit we were in. We were also told to take the sheets and towels and start a load of laundry. We had no idea where the washing machine was and when we found it in another building, it was already piled high with dirty laundry and so we didn't feel we should be held responsible for starting a load of our sheets.

Beautiful River Cabin
A quiet get-a-way, but close to town and the entire Methow valley. Very comfortable and spacious clean cabin on the river... Close to North Cascades National Park and don't miss Sun Mountain Lodge for breakfast... Highly recommend.

Tucked away, cute, quaint, the perfect getaway-NO AC
Great place to stay for 2 nights in the middle of summer. The river next to the building is perfect to lounge around near/in. Town is about 1.5 miles away from the place which is that perfect distance. The only draw back which in Washington I get is no AC. It's reaching the mid 90's during the day and when you go to fall asleep after a long day nothing makes it less comfortable than it being 80+ degrees inside the unit. Nonetheless I still give this place a 5 star.

A Special Cabin by the River!
My husband and I celebrated our 40th Anniversary at this special spot. Although the property is shared with a bigger house, there is plenty of privacy. There is a special spot up-river a bit for guests staying in the little cabin. The kitchen is very small but fine for two (and there a some good restaurants in town!) Everything is clean and well taken care of. The owners were very responsive when we called with a question about the fridge (problem was our mistake.) There are several fans and the building must be well insulated - even in high 90 degree weather we were fine. Location is great if you want to be close to town. We had a wonderful time here!

Beautiful, peaceful setting next to the Chewuch River. Perfect escape to for serious relaxation.
Pine Cottage was clean and beautifully furnished with everything needed for a cozy and comfortable stay. Deer visit the property daily and the river charms as it gurgles over rocks on its way to meet up with the Methow river a mile downstream. Close enough to town for dining and grocery shopping, Perrygin Lake is minutes away, and hiking or xc skiing opportunities surround the area. This cabin is the perfect getaway at the end of a dead end road, so no traffic. House is available for larger groups.

This cabin is so sweet and nicely located!
We spent 3 winter nights in this cabin and we were so happy there. The place is comfortable, cheerfully decorated and spotlessly clean. It's also situated close to the town of Winthrop, so even though the treed, riverfront setting feels remote, it's actually close to all amenities, as well as tons of recreation opportunities. Beautiful Pearygin Lake State Park is just down the road. There were two families renting the main house on the same property at the time, and other than seeing them a couple of times in the driveway, we were barely aware they were there. Two thumbs up to the Pine Cottage! I would rent this place again in a heartbeat.

very cozy, had everything we needed!
Enjoyed our winter stay--snow all around, yet the river still flowing slowly by. Thanks for flannel sheets, nice mattress, and a well-stocked wood stove. Kitchen is small yet had all the basics for easy meals. We were quite content!

Winter Retreat
We just spent five days here enjoying the snow and mountains. The cabin is perfect for a couple. The wood fireplace/stove was a real bonus and lots of wood available for our use. The secluded nature of it all met our hopes for a retreat back to nature. The cabin is furnished in a rustic and comfortable manner. We would rent here again for sure. Our host worked with us to make sure we received information needed. All in all a perfect vacation here.

Wonderful stay - the peace and quiet of the cabin was a perfect way to unwind. Andrea was a lovely host, especially given our last minute reservation during a holiday. Enjoyed the Winthrop area and their town holiday celebration. Hope to be back.

Nice Cabin, beautiful area.
Lovely cabin by a river, quiet area near everything you need and all possible outdoor activities. Nearby Winthrop, Twisp and Mazama are small communities with good food, beer, coffee, etc. Lakes and Rivers abound! Hiking, kayaking, biking nearby. Very nice visit to the Methow Valley.

Tranquil, peaceful, absolutely wonderful
This cabin was everything we expected and more. It was so comfortable, cozy, peaceful, met all of our needs. The deer we outside our door every morning. We laid by the river in the afternoon. There was not a sound around. The bed had a wonderful down comforter, extremely comfortable. We were 5 minutes from town. I felt so at home in this lovely, roomy cabin. Thank you so much!
