'The staff were great. Very friendly and helpful. When we first entered the room we did notice it looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned very well or it had been a while since guests had stayed in that room. The carpet needed vacuuming and the bathroom needed some cleaning also. More Handicapped parking spots would definitely be a plus. The amenities were great. And the 24 hour coffee in the lobby was a very big plus. Besides the room needing some cleaning and the parking everything was great.'

'The hotel is five years old yet it looks and smells brand new. The beds were extremely comfortable, water pressure in the shower was excellent and the room was very clean. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the breakfast and the kids loved using the clean pool. We will definitely stay here again.'

'The room could have been cleaner. It looked like they skipped cleaning the floor. There was also no extra toilet paper, just what was on the roll by the toilet. We also got locked out of our room on Sunday. Thank god staff was walking by to help us. Not sure why that even happened. Everything else was fine though.'

'We booked this hotel for a concert in Gainesville. When we arrived, there was five couples standing outside waiting to register. All of us needed to get to the concert in order to find parking before got too late. We waited an hour and 15 minutes for one couple to be processed. The gentleman who worked there was very nice, but was working with extremely limited resources. I think he did the best he could, but the rooms were substandard, dirty, and we didn’t get our room till 1:30 in the morning....

'You could tell most of the staff didn't want to be there. The TV didn't work the entire time we were there and the girl who was doing the breakfast was rude and miserable; I get being a server is difficult - I worked in the service industry for 18 years - she's either burnt out or just naturally has a terrible attitude. Overall it's a shrug.'

'The place is very nice, clean and safe. We arrrived late and did fast check in, then short walk to the hotel room. The room was clean, good size, the bed very comfortable as well pillows. The room stayed quiete in the night even with room being close (you do not hear the noises). In the morning we enjoyed the good breakfast. My husband as well a worked out at thier gym. We are recommending this place'

'Blue Gem motel was the perfect stay for us for our weekend event at Camp Kulaqua which was only a few minutes down the road. I was a lil hesitant since it was a “motel”. However the room was nicely decorated and spacious. The bed was a super comfy king bed. I travel a lot and was impressed with how comfortable I slept. The AC was nice and cold. 'The room had bad bugs. When it was reported to the front desk they were unable to do anything about it. We contacted Expedia and they reported that the hotel staff indicated the room was is good order. Why would we leave a "good order" room at 11:30 at night..IT HAD BE BUGS OVER OVER THE SHEETS!'

'We booked three rooms for a concert weekend and unfortunately did not end up staying at this property. Upon entering the rooms, we found bugs present, strong smoke odors, stained bedding, and overall unsanitary conditions, including hair left in one of the sinks. We immediately returned to the front desk, returned the room keys, and informed staff that we would not be staying overnight. The most frustrating part of the experience was the difficulty resolving the refund afterward. Expedia...

'This hotel was not what we expected. Very busy loud and when we checked in the room It was late and we were tired and just wanted to get some rest. When we were getting the sofa sleeper open to sleep in the mattress had urine stains on them. We were very upset went down to the desk to try to get a different room and there wasn’t one so we ended up leaving.'
