We spent about three weeks at Tausi Hotel, and our stay was very enjoyable. Housekeeping was impeccable and the room was comfortable. The rooms are very much like what you see on the website. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and always willing to answer any questions or concerns. The location was perfect, it's in Stone Town and minutes away from many restaurants, shops, cafes and activities like diving and historical sites.

There are only a few quibbles that prevented me from giving this place a five. The bathrooms are clean with running hot water, but the fixtures are dated, and could use a renovation. The restaurant I would rate about a 3.5/5. The food is very tourist-oriented with few local dishes. Breakfast is not bad, continental fare, buffet-style, and they do change up what they serve daily so there is some variety. Just as I left however there was a new chef coming in, so there may be a revamp in their menu. Lounge chairs in the courtyard would be nice, for days when you just want to laze about (mind you it was rainy season so that may be why there was not much furniture there).
Other than that, I had a great time, and would book it again, and recommend it to anyone going to Zanzibar.
