'We had an amazing stay at the Courtland hotel. The owner Frank made us feel like family. His passion for the history of Fort Scott and the hotel was contagious. Fort Scott is such a perfect charming town. So grateful we visited in our way to Kansas State.'

'Nice, very clean hotel. Comfortable room, a restaurant on site that had good choices at reasonable prices. We were happy with the food. Nice basic breakfast bar with numerous options. Front desk staff attentive and very welcoming. Smaller, clean and friendly casino attached. Big parking lot, and felt very safe at this location. '

'I will never stay at this property again. The room I checked into had a dirty comfort and soiled sheets with bodily fluids and hair. I moved to a second room which had no soap in the pump at the sink and one kleenex in the box. The bathroom floor around the toilet was dirty. Shower had very little pressure. Pillows are not comfortable. No attendant at the desk the second time I went to report problems so I just had to deal with it for themight. I waited 10-15 minutes . A very disappointing...

'In general, an okay hotel and probably one of the better options for the area. There was food left out overnight in the breakfast area and in the microwave, and our room smelt like mildew and cigarette smoke despite the hotel claiming to be a 100% smoke-free hotel. The bedding and towels smelt fine ironically. I didn't see any dirt, grime, or bugs, but the smell was definitely off-putting and made us consider trying to find another hotel.'
