'I chose this location because it was right on the water, and pet friendly, prerequisites for our vacation choice. The house is beautiful inside; clean, roomy, and perfect for our family size and gathering. We were celebrating my 70th birthday, and it could not have been a more memorable experience. 'This is a beautiful house in a idylic location. Our three couples had a comfortable, enjoyable stay - stunning sunsets, water access and nearby bike trails. We should take off points for the manager, but were so impressed with both the home and the location, it would not be fair the owners to present anything less than five stars. 'The house is so much more spacious than it appears. Kitchen is a great size with abundant seating. Views are spectacular, people we met in the area were extremely friendly. We didn't stay in the summer, but this is definitely a perfect kayak base camp. Will definitely consider coming back in the summertime for just that.'

'My wife and I loved being here. It was a fantastic location and we enjoyed sunsets and people, boat, and birdwatching. The beds were super comfortable and it was very restful to sleep with the windows open and hear the birds chirping. The description is a little over the top with the 'sprawling back yard' and 'two-level patio' and 'sandy beach' - the yard and outdoor space are fine, if a little worse for wear. The property's beach is rocks, which again is fine, and you can walk down the beach...

'If you look at the listing and say 'wow, this place sounds great!' then you're exactly right. We had a group of 13 for four nights, and it was the perfect place for us. Derek was an excellent host and answered all of our questions and gave some great recommendations. Only problem was that there were just too many fun things to do. Guess we'll just have to come back.'

'My family had a wonderful stay in Colchester. We loved the house, the view of the lake was incredible. My kids loved it so much they want to rent it every year! Great recommendations from the hosts for restaurants and hiking in the area. We loved the move theater - and had a great night going to the drive-in movies a few miles down the road! 'This is a “lived-in” rustic log cabin and was perfect for our group of fishermen. Hanging out in the great room in the evenings was ideal. Just two suggestions -the can opener is missing a gear and the back up manual can opener is bent and bends too easily to function. We also look forward to evenings at the fire pit, but the lawn was uncut 1 to 2 feet tall -a mess and made using the fire pit and waterfront impossible.'

'Location on the lake is beautiful. Sort of far from st albans 15-30 mins drive and 30-35 to Burlington. We visited for a UVM graduation so went back and forth a lot. 'Great place for a family. Convenient to Ausable Chasm, some nice restaurants and a great state day use facility. Great fenced yard and there were s’more sticks which was convenient. Everything felt very clean and the check in was very easy. It was very quiet inside and the WiFi worked very well for streaming Netflix.'

'We were happy to be able to book Jessica’s place again because we had stayed there before. It is much roomier than having to stay in a hotel room. Quiet but close to Burlington and the islands.
