'I stayed at the property with girlfriends and our dogs for a girls weekend. The property was clean and had everything that we needed for the weekend (and more). We loved the air hockey and ping pong in the basement. The host was very nice and was easy to get ahold of. I would definitely stay here again.'

The Grand Bear lodge has a great bar as well. Great restaurant options between Utica, Peru and Ottawa, or venture over to the Starved Rock state park lodge restaurant.'

'We took a family weekend getaway out of the city to Starved Rock and stayed with this host. From the time of purchase through checkout, the host was accommodating and available. The description of the home was spot on and was stocked with all of the basic needs and more. The grill and fire pit were a huge hit. It’s a 5 minute drive to breakfast locations, ice cream shop, and a grocery store and 10 minute drive to starved rock. Our kids had so much fun playing monopoly, we made it a no electronic...

Jim's property and space is absolutely amazing, huge deck area by the pond with feeding the fish was awesome including ample space in the garage to play washers & games when it got too cold out. Check in/out were so easy, he replied quickly to texts, and overall great experience.'

'This cottage is super cute, outfitted for fun on the lake. It's great for a couple with small kids. The stairs up to the loft are a bit treacherous but the bunkbeds are cute and comfy. The back patio is perfect for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine enjoying the sunset over the pond.'

'We really enjoyed staying here. The owner was very nice and answered all our questions. We loved being right on the river and we caught a lot of fish (bass and big catfish). We drove to Starved Rock and Matthiessen State Park and went hiking there. We couldn't wait to get back to the cabin after hiking to relax. All the furniture, beds and bedding were very comfortable. The cabin is nicely decorated, beautiful wood furnishings and taxidermy. We would definitely stay here again!'

'Nice, roomy old house - great for two couples with plenty of room to spread out and relax after hiking with comfortable beds. Loved all the little touches - handwritten welcome note, toiletries in case you forget any and lots of seasonings and condiments in a fully stocked kitchen. Super close to Starved Rock and nice winery and breweries.'

'We rented Coty’s House for my granddaughter and her wedding party. So few places to stay in the area. She loved the house! It was spacious, convenient and clean. Diane was a wonderful communicator! This was the first time I had rented through Vrbo and he helped through my hiccups with great patience. Highly recommend this home if you are in the Streator area!'
