'We did a last minute booking for this cottage (day before) in Julian, CA. It is very clean, quaint, & cozy. It had everything we needed and more. The kitchen was stocked with breakfast foods and snacks. There were movies to watch, a backyard grill, bathroom with any toiletries you may need, big comfortable bed. It was located just a short ride from main street Julian as well as San Ysabel. Close by to all hiking too. We enjoyed waking up to see the chickens, ducks and little pigs. Views outside...

'Moonrise Cottage is a perfect place to escape every day stress and chaos. The remote location is very quiet and worth the effort. Cottage itself has a an eclectic decorating style. It’s got everything you need. Heidi is a wonderful host. I had lots of questions about directions etc. to get there and she was very prompt in answering and very clear on how to get there. My wife and I plan to return to this oasis.'

'I truly loved our stay at the farm. We stayed in the Bunny Hill property. Our favorite part was the hot tub. It was perfect!! The house was ample and fit our entire party of 7. My daughter really enjoyed walking down and feeding the animals; the alpacas, the goats, the peacocks and the chickens. We also enjoyed going down to the chicken coop and picking up eggs for breakfast. The location was very remote and serene. This location is perfect for those that want to get away and indulge in nature...

'We had been here a few years ago, under a previous owner. But the new owner is still taking care of things. The facility was wonderful. Clean, comfortable, etc. Lots of snacks provided! And the fowl (chickens, ducks, turkey) are gorgeous. Love this place!'

'My husband and I stayed in Kay's studio for 4 nights in January. It was convenient to town and to the orienteering events we attended near the Slot canyon in the park. The studio was clean and had everything we needed and Kay was the perfect host. Her two dogs were friendly and fun.'

The surroundings are private and tranquil but shops/wineries/dining and the Heritage Rose Garden are all within easy driving distance.a Would reintegrate as noted in the listing that the stairs to the second floor sleeping area are indeed attic stairs. They are steep and shallow with only one hand rail so carrying luggage to the room is tricky if like us, you are seniors. Our hosts were very responsive and helpful.
