Exactly what we were looking for...
This small, austere hotel located almost adjacent to the Acropolis and the new Acropolis Museum was just what the doctor ordered. After flying all night, and arriving well before check-in, they found us the triple room we needed and ushered us to its air conditioned confines. It was small, with no decoration, a miniscule LCD TV mounted high on the wall, hard beds, and a view of an ill-kept back alley. BUT - we slept well, felt safe, had tea in the room, a safe, and a decent bathroom. The staff were cheery and helpful. The breakfast (provided) had fresh fruit and watermelon (oddly, a rarity in the areas of Greece we visited) and was the best we encountered on our trip. We returned to the Airotel Parthenon after our touring as we had an early flight home, and found it completely satisfactory the second time around. This is not a luxury hotel or anything close to it! But it is a clean, honest, well-managed property.

Ottima scelta per visitare Atene
Ancora una volta mi sono avvalso di Expedia per la scelta della vacanza ad Atene e sono rimasto pienamente soddisfatto sia della location dell’albergo, sia dei servizi offerti dall’hotel con particolare riferimento alla abbondante prima colazione. Dall’aereoporto ho raggiunto l’albergo con la metro pagando Euro 10 per due persone senza avere alcuna difficoltà, avvalendomi delle sufficienti indicazioni. L’albergo è a poche decine di metri dalla fermata dell’Acropoli, ma, per evitare il cambio della linea a Piazza Sintagma, si può anche scendere in quest’ultima piazza e raggiungere l’albergo in 10 minuti a piedi. Dopo aver visto le tradizionali attrazioni di Atene (Acropoli, Plaka, Monastiraki, Musei.....) consiglio vivamente la gita alla collina di Licabetto per un panorama stupendo e una sosta piacevolissima al bar-ristorante posto in cima. Per la ristorazione consiglio" Strofi" a Sud dell’Acropoli e la taverna Platanos nella Plaka. Unica raccomandazione è quelle di evitare i periodi troppo caldi per visitare Atene.
