I was quite disappointed with this hotel. The location is excellent, within easy walking distance of the railway station, Union Square, shops, restaurants, and much of central Aberdeen. Unfortunately, the quality of the hotel does not match its prime location or the price being charged.
The best way I can describe the interior is somewhere between a youth hostel and an old college dormitory. The entire property feels dated and badly in need of renovation. The paintwork, carpets, hallways, room, bathroom, and common areas all looked tired and worn. Nothing felt particularly welcoming or comfortable, and the overall appearance gave the impression that very little has been invested in maintaining or modernizing the property.
There was also no housekeeping service during my stay. The room was not cleaned, the bed was not made, and fresh towels were not provided. I understand that Travelodge uses a request system for replacement towels and supplies rather than providing normal daily housekeeping, but this level of service s
