Tolip Alexandria was advertised on the Hotels.com website as a 5-star hotel. I would give it at most 3 stars. its a huge hotel, yes but dark and dingy lobby and sitting areas. it is a very old hotel and shows it, everywhere feels dark and dinghy, rooms are not very clean, when i opened the patio door and then went to close it, the outside of the door was caked in dust and dirt like it had never been cleaned. Staff took forever to do anything. room was not ready, promised one thing that changed to another. breakfast was okay - the yogurt at the breakfast buffet was not even cold - how can you eat diary that feels warm to the touch. Very, very disappointing stay; ruined my vacation. the hotel put me in such a bad mood, was difficult to enjoy anything not that there is much to enjoy about Alexandria. they advertised a private beach which is not at the hotel; you have to be shuttled to it but shuttle was closed due to "winter" though it was quite hot when i was there. very disappointing.

Great location and staff. Downside is many things: Rooms & bathrooms are really outdated and not well maintained, bedding and towels are super old, toiletry products are very bad quality, in-room food is not the best. Pool is always crowded and not overlooking the great view of the beach. Overall poor management and not paying attention to details.

The Tolip is posh. We booked a 2-night stay here only because we changed our cell chip to a local number and the hotel.com app gave us this option. However, the rate was for Egyptian residents only. When we arrived at the front desk, we had to pay an extra 155 dollars. Because of a promotion, the front desk clerk gave us an upgrade to a room with partial view to the ocean across the large avenue. Breakfast was included, which was very good with all the essentials - fruits, breads, vegetables, yogourt, tea, coffee and a chef to prepare omelettes to taste. The breakfast restaurant is on the 11th floor with a fabulous view of the Mediterranean. Our room was clean, spacious, bright, nice bed, large balcony. From this hotel you can walk for kilometres all along the seawall towards the west. This is a resort hotel with a pool, spa and several restaurants and coffee shops perfectly for those tourists, who like to stay in their hotel and take advantage of the amenities.

Check in required multiple calls to the hotel and a call to Expedia customer service who has helped to resolve the problem which was that the hotel front desk couldn’t “see” the reservation despite the reservation being confirmed a few days ahead and paid in full. Then the room was very basic and had no amenities whatsoever despite the cost of 86$/night !!!

Horrible Experience
Cleanliness is none existent in this hotel which is a shame because the actual hotel looks nice. We were a group of 6 with 3 rooms and all 3 rooms were extremely dirty, specially the bathrooms. The poll water was also not clean.The private beach they have is very small and we had to beg for towels as every time we went to ask we were told to wait 5 minutes because they didn't have any. I could go on and on. Avoid this hotel.

I did not like the way of dealing, responses and behavior of all hotel staff/ employees, especially the front desk staff, and whoever answered the phone when I called them from my room, their responses were characterized by lack of taste and respect and you do not find such behavior in a two-star hotel or even a one-star hotel, in short, hotel management is A failed and does not have the slightest idea about hotel management and the staff are unprofessional and act with the utmost indifference, arrogance and lack of any sense of responsibility. The air conditioning is very noisy and the room’s furniture is old and worn out, and it seems that there is no regular maintenance for the devices, furniture and mattresses, and the appearance of the room is far and completely different from the pictures on booking and other websites on the Internet, I recommend changing the hotel management and many of the hotel staff and replacing them with more professional ones and Respected people, and the renewal of furniture, ,air conditioning devices, and Tv's, finally i don't recommend that hotel, i hope if the hotel owners take our reviews seriously and take an action to save the hotel reputation and make it as other good five stars hotels, because right now it's not more than an average three stars hotel.

The bed was not comfortable at all The hotel was overcrowded with guets they didnt applu the covid restricition The parking was too musch expensive

Great location very friendly staff the rooms are very spacious and comfortable the hotel is very spacious the lobby is spacious extremely safe. I love this hotel I always book there never had a problem and if I had an issue in the room or needed something they respond immediately and if I get pored in the night I just go down to the lobby they have multiple seating areas u could even walk around. And great breakfast and I Exercise mostly every day I’m happy with the gym equipment that they have everything is there I needed. I always choose side sea view room very nice choice and great price.
