Unique location, you sleep in the old canel houses. Great friendly staff and the best breakfast eggs I ever had.

It was perfect. Beautiful room and the service was outstanding. Jansz for breakfast lunch and diner is one of my favorite places in Amsterdam.

Hospitality in optima forma
Mooie locatie midden in het centrum aan de gracht. Midden in het bruisend hart, de 9 straatjes om de hoek en toch rustig gelegen. Ontvangst bijzonder gastvrij en attent. We vierden dat weekend een speciale gelegenheid en werden getrakteerd op een mooie kamer aan de gracht en een leuke attentie op de kamer. Al het personeel was gedurende ons hele verblijf zonder uitzondering super vriendelijk en gastvrij. Heel fijn! Wij bevelen dit hotel van harte aan, topklasse service met medewerkers die werkelijk het verschil maken!

Geweldig mooi hotel in een mooi pand. De kamers zijn ruim en klassiek ingericht. De ligging is top, dichtbij alle bezienswaardigheden. Het personeel was heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

Nice room ruined by overwhelming deodorizing smell
We chose the Pulitzer for our wedding anniversary but the stench in the room put a dampener on things. As we had brought our Jack Russell we initially thought we'd been given the 'executive' dog room. No the staff said. The problem? Over the top use of deodorizer to hide a faint sewerage smell. Yes we were offered a different room late at night but with staff swearing they could smell nothing the pressure was on to grin and bear it. Expect better from a 5 star. We are only glad we tested the place before booking for Christmas as planned.

Eclectic hotel consisting of many different buildings, with a nice inner garden area. Our room was noisy, as it was in a major pathway area and had stairs inside the room. Lots of trip hazards at thresholds. Be aware most European hotels don't have stand alone showers, which requires you to climb into a rather high tub to take a shower..not many grab handles for securing. Becoming very aware of this for senior citizens which are the ones that can basically afford expensive hotels. Staff was exceptional. The covered boat tour of the city, available through the hotel is a must do, especially with the captain who is knowledgeable and charming. Would book again but be more picky about my room.

Lovely property with character. The staff were very helpful. Beautiful gardens and dining in those gardens. Area was convenient to get to from the airport and via tram to major attractions.

Welcoming staff on arrival/ check-in. Good location for getting around central Amsterdam. Interesting way the traditional buildings had been integrated around courtyards, giving a unique feel. Rooms decorated to a high standard and high level of comfort, with individual touches such as the picture on the wall giving the history of the original house/ building in which the room was located. Spotlessly clearn throughout. Good outside seating areas (although we couldn't make much use of them in the cold/ wet March weather).

Truly an amazing hotel. My wife and I had a great experience here. The front desk and bar staff were top notch. This is a hotel that lives up to the ratings. 10/10 without question. They went out of their way to make sure our stay was perfect. Comfortable bed, wonderful Bar (and staff, especially Lily) . They overheard it was our anniversary and surprised us with champagne and chocolates in our room. They really made our trip special. Will be back for sure. Our new stop in wonderful Amsterdam

The staff went above and beyond to help, they were amazing. The property as a whole is extremely unique, and my room was beautiful. No detail seemed to be too small. Very convenient and easily walkable wherever you want to go. Also, if you want a canal tour by boat then use the hotel's canal boat. Might be a tad more expensive than the regular tour boats but you'll not regret it. Very luxurious

Amazing hotel!, wow! From the moment you walk in and are greeted by the professional staff (everyone speaks fluent English it seems) to exploring the property to the incredible and well appointed room, this hotel is my top choice for Amsterdam! The location is perfect, great walking distance to everything, the property is unbelievable, so much charm, history and elegance all wrapped up in one hotel! I forgot my ipad in the room, and about 30 mins after i checked out, they called me indicating they found it and were storing it until I could come back and retrieve it, phew! Would not hesitate to highly recommend this hotel to anyone and I will definitely being staying here on future business trips!

I have stayed at the Pulitzer three times now over the last couple years. The hotel is truly unique and quirky, which adds to its charm. Now that the quirkiness has worn off, it’s just not real comfortable. There is very bad insulation between rooms because of the old buildings, so you hear people above and below and if you have a canal view room, lots of street noise. Also, because of the different levels of the buildings the hallways are an endless series of stairs. Initially, fun, now just a pain. I will try someplace different next time.
