'The location was excellent, walking distance from town centre shops, pubs & restaurants. Hotel also had a car park and nice bar with a free pool table. Owner was very helpful with check in and explaining where everything was. It is not trying to be a luxurious hotel, but for a cheap room for the night to break up a long drive it was perfect for my needs. The only real negative I had is that the bed wasn't the comfiest but I still slept fine.'

'Dianne went out of her way to be helpful at all steps of our stay. Great parking facilities, great shower, comfy bed. Everything needed was provided and well thought through. We were able to arrange to collect the keys early as we were due at a wedding and Dianne went out of her way to help us arrange a taxi booking to and from the venue nearby. Breakfast was varied and plentiful.'

'Heating system needed topped up as guggled all night, room old with not one furniture matched, all from second hand shops I think TV controller didn't work only basic 4 channels using TV buttons Wouldn't go or recommend this place'

'It’s an old building on a hill but the inside is nicely renovated and in a good state. Rooms are nice and clean and beds are very good. Breakfast is nicely done on request the English or Scottish way. Service is excellent and staff (Terry) is very friendly and helpful.'

'A warm greeting, a bedroom which met my needs and a delicious breakfast that was cooked to order. The parking is not directly adjacent to the hotel but you can park on the street overnight if preferred.'

'Our stay was perfect. The room was big enough for our family of four, bed were very comfortable and the room was very clean and tidy. What’s an added bonus is the best breakfast you will ever have!
