Serene Sierra Cabin in the Big Trees Forest

  • Geniet van de frisse luchtvergiftiging en stilte in deze ontspannen en serene 3bd / 1. Bad 5 cabine uit 1968 groovy A-frame. Gelegen op 1. 5 beboste hectare, de achtertuin is het Calaveras Big Trees State Park. Het hele jaar door Moran Creek loopt aan de rand van het pand. Alle houten binnen: tong-in-groef grenen plafonds en walnoot lambrisering, grote houtkachel die drie vlakke plaatsen om te koken heeft. Volledig ingerichte keuken met vintage roze en witte formica tellers en een ontbijtbar met plaats voor vier. Dineren op een ronde tafel met harsmotief, gemaakt door de ontwerper van de eerste stoeltjeslift in Squaw Valley. Gigantisch redwood omhullend dek om te genieten van de gelukzaligheid van Big Trees-Calaveras State Park in de achtertuin. Op de begane grond, twee slaapkamers: een koningin, een met twee tweelingen, een complete badkamer met groot bad / douche; op zolder: een koningin en een tweeling, en een 1/2 bad. Sofa is gevuld. Retro decor met oranje glazen lampen, kilim tapijten en donzen dekbedden op alle bedden. Vintage elektrisch toetsenbord en volledig stereosysteem. Enorme redwood dek omgeven door bloeiende kornoelje lente. Kan slapen 7-8 .. Weekenddiners in Snowflake Lodge, volledige keuken of gasbarbeque in de hut. 35 "naar Bear Valley Ski Area, downhill of cross country. 20" naar wijnproeverijen in de historische Murphys 1850. Zoveel te doen of niet!

Great Location!

The location is really beautiful. Cabin backs up the State Park land and nearest neighbor is far enough away that it feels like you have the forest orally to yourself. The cabin is really cozy. Our family really enjoyed our stay.

Much needed get away

Our overall trip was wonderful. We appreciated the coziness of the cabin and the surrounding property. Our kids loved walking around with our dog. We took advantage of Big Trees State Park as we as the brewery.

Quick getaway

A little confusing getting from the main road into the property but directions given were great. Cozy cabin with room for more people than I had. Perfect to get away and disconnect from the world. No cell service but WiFi worked great.

Cozy cabin, with a forrest trail near by

We loved our stay at Robin's cabin. It's well loved and lived, which makes homey and cozy. Definitely not one of those sterile vacation rentals, where you feel right away, the owners are not using their own place. Yes, the carpet could have been cleaner, especially next to the fire place.We loved the discovery of the forrest trail to walk our dog, just a few steps up the road.

Great location at the edge of the woods, but also close to the pool and lakes and state park. We loved being up in the trees, and the home had everything we needed - plus it felt like a home, not like a soulless corporate vacation rental. It was a delight! Plus we came with our dog to escape the city fireworks and we didn’t hear a single one. And my toddler loved playing with his trains on the deck. He actually told me to sell our house and buy this one so we could live there all the time.

Great funky old school warm & cozy cabin

Despite no TV which wasn’t necessary this place rally grows on you over time. The kids loved it and the host, Robin was super friendly and accommodating. Unlike other rentals — this home is lived in by the hosts so their personal touch and 60s flare is on filial display. We had a great time! Keep in mind, the stairs are quite long to get to the main door and there are stairs of course to the loft so if that’s an issue this might not be the place for you. Otherwise, soak up the chill, warm, groovy vibes ingrained in the home and enjoy!

Great location, less than stellar interior

Dark photos hid things like carpet padding coming out from the floor in the upstairs bathroom and a very dusty and very lived in space. This felt like I was in someone else's space a bit too much. Pots and pans had many caked on stains and grime so we microwaved everything and ended up buying paper towels and paper plates.

Mountain Retreat

We had a lovely time in Arnold. The lakes, we went to three, we all beautiful and with such warm temps, the water felt great. The cabin truly is right out of the 1970's but everything is clean and well kept - it's a trip and took me straight back to my childhood memories. Our son and dog both had so much fun running through the woods, splashing in the lakes and enjoying the stars! Thank you Robin for a great stay!!

Step back in time

I really enjoy the house, The only thing that I would change would be to take more of the personal belongings off the side tables where people sit and next to the bed. put those away because it was hard to put a soda or glass of water. I felt like I was intruding on the space but I really liked it overall. Would recommend if you want to unplug from electronics.

Snowy stay at mountain retreat

What a nice cabin to spend a weekend. Wooded surroundings, comfy beds, great vibe to the cabin. All four of us (adults) enjoyed the laid back feel and the sense of quiet. Away from the highway, but not too far over well maintained and plowed roads from Highway 4. The dogs thought it was a great place too. Everything worked & plenty of hot water. Highly recommend this cabin!

Fun cabin in the woods

We had such a great weekend at this cabin. It is in a quiet part of Blue Lake Springs and is cozy and comfortable. It’s less than five minutes to the rec center and our kids had the best time in the pool. Our doggo was super happy there too. Would definitely love to rent again.
