Rustic Chic Barn in Ayer’s Cliff, Near Lake Massawippi

The Barn is a rustic chic ancestral barn in the heart of Ayer’s Cliff, ideal for two couples or a small family. Walk to village life, reach Lake Massawippi in 1.5 km, Magog/North Hatley in 15mn, Mt Orford in 20mn. Spacious, personal and full of character, with private access, full kitchen, gas fireplace and outdoor area. Near the main village road, so daytime truck traffic can be heard and lightly felt. Quiet at night.

THE HOUSE
The Barn is ideal for 4 guests, with 2 double beds. Up to 6 guests may be accepted on request with an extra mattress. Extra guests beyond 4 are charged $20 per person, per night.

The Barn is our personal family chalet, set inside a converted ancestral barn in the heart of Ayer’s Cliff. It is spacious, warm and full of character, designed for guests who appreciate architecture, generous volumes, village life and a lived-in home with personality.

The first floor includes an open kitchen with full appliances, a large antique dining table, a gas fireplace, a lounge area, a toilet room and an entry closet.

Upstairs, you’ll find a large open living area with a double bed, a TV lounge, AC, a full bathroom with shower and bathtub, a separate toilet, and a private bedroom overlooking the backyard. The full bathroom is accessed through the open sleeping area, which is important to know when travelling as two couples.

GUEST ACCESS
Guests have private access to The Barn through a dedicated entrance, identified with its own sign. Check-in is self-guided with a lockbox.

You will have access to the full house, except for one locked storage room and one locked housekeeping closet. These contain our personal belongings and maintenance supplies.

The Barn has its own private outdoor area, private BBQ and access to shared outdoor spaces, including the backyard, garden, outdoor furniture and fire pit. Outdoor spaces may also be used by guests staying at the Grey Rabbit or Wood Loft.

Parking is available in the shared driveway and can accommodate several vehicles. The driveway is cleared in winter when needed.

NOTEWORTHY INFO
The Barn is not a secluded countryside cabin. It is located near the main road of Ayer’s Cliff, close to village life, restaurants, the lake and summer activity.

Because it is an old barn near the village road, the house can lightly vibrate when heavy trucks pass during the day. This is part of the character of an ancestral building in a village setting. Truck traffic is rare on weekends and absent at night.

The house is pleasant for reading, relaxing and working during the day, but it is not intended for guests looking for complete isolation or perfect silence.

Children are welcome, but the house is not baby-proofed. There are stairs, personal items and delicate furniture. A crib can be provided on request, but parents remain responsible for supervising young children.

This is our personal family chalet, with books, decor and furniture we care about. Please treat it with the same care you would give your own home.
