Welkom bij Grandfather Lookout

Grootvader Lookout luxe hut bovenop de prachtige Seven Devils Mountain biedt alles wat u nodig heeft voor een perfecte bergvakantie. Dit huis heeft een adembenemend uitzicht op de beroemde grootvaderberg, veel ramen en comfortabele dekruimte om te genieten van de bergachtige omgeving.

Het interieur beschikt over een open plattegrond met hardhouten vloeren, gewelfde tong en groef plafonds en moderne accenten. De keuken is bijgewerkt met roestvrijstalen apparatuur, granieten aanrecht, op maat gemaakte kasten en granieten eiland. De eettafel biedt plaats aan 8 en er kunnen nog 2 op het nabijgelegen eiland zitten. De loft op de bovenverdieping heeft een speelruimte met een pooltafel, een sjoeltafel en een kaarttafel. Beneden is een mediaruimte met een grote tv, een Blu-Ray-speler, comfortabele stoelen, een droge bar en een wijnkoelkast.

Grandfather Lookout is centraal gelegen in het High Country met nabijgelegen toegang tot Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk en Valle Crucis. Nabijgelegen bezienswaardigheden zijn onder meer Hawksnest Zip-lijn en Snow Tubing en Otter Falls. Iets verder weg zijn de Blue Ridge Parkway, Tweetsie Railroad, Linville Falls en Caverns en nog veel meer.

Winter toegang
- Van de late herfst tot de vroege lente zijn 4WD en bandkettingen vereist in Seven Devils. Er is ook een steile oprit naar de hut.

The home was spacious and lovely. We especially enjoyed the covered deck with comfortable furnishings. The beds were comfortable and the light switches were conveniently labeled. The kitchen was fully stocked with cookware, but did not provide staples such as sugar. No laundry soap, softener, or tissues were provided and these would have been appreciated.

31st annual Christmas Tree cutting trip

We started out as two, then four(Two Girls). youngest was proposed to at RRR Todd Tree Farm( still together with two kids).Oldest daughter(42) with her girls and her better half. Come in on the day before Thanksgiving. Eat Drink & be Merry. Daniel; Boone Restaurant for breakfast Saturday morning, then off to find our trees. Back to Mast General whether it be Valle Cruis or Downtown Boone. Girls shop, we look for parking spots. The Living room TV was our biggest issue. We were snowed in and couldn't find our shows. Got 4" Sunday night. Tough going down the hills but we're home now in Wilmington. Beautiful Home, View & area. We all loved it. We have stayed in Seven Devils several times but none as great as Grandfather View !

Wonderful place for family

We brought our teenagers and their friends up for the weekend and it was the perfect layout. Our bedroom was on the main floor with the beautiful view from the porch nearby. The teenagers enjoyed the pool table, shuffleboard and hot tub. There was a second living room downstairs giving everyone plenty of places to spread out. The location of the house is central to Boone/Blowing Rock and Beech/Sugar Mountain. All of the area attractions are a short distance away. We will stay here again!

Absolutely LOVED this property! Excellent location, and you cannot beat the view! They’re not joking about needing 4WD. I do not suggest coming to the house for the first time in the dark - you may fall off the mountain. Two notes: 1. Spend some time in the kitchen before you have to cook, and make sure you open ALL the drawers ALL THE WAY. Steak knives are wayyyy in the back of a random drawer - ha! 2. Put your heaviest sleeper in the basement bedroom. You hear every single step that happens above you.

Nice Place with a nice View.

My family and friends stayed for the week and had a good time. House was clean and comfortable and nice view to wake up to in the morning. Driveway might be a little scary if you are in a car or in snowy weather I doubt a car would make it in snow, but that kinda is to be expected. SUV had no issue getting up the hill.

The view from the living room glass doors is totally memorable. The cabin was very clean and management very responsive. The kitchen faucet needs attention immediately. overall the stay was great and would rent again.

Grandfather Lookout, nice cabin with a great view.

Overall, the property was clean and well kept. The driveway is pretty steep, it is fully paved and very manageable with good weather. We had a mid-sized SUV and it did not have any issues, there are 2 sharp turns on the driveway. The cabin was clean and well kept on the outside. The inside was mostly clean, upon arrival we found some dust bunnies in the corners, one of the blankets was left out and not folded, we found some dirt around the corner of the floors, and the bathroom shower tiles could have used a better cleaning on them. You could tell the cabin was cleaned by hitting the high points for a quick rental turn around. Other than that, everything else was in good order. The kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans, and utensils, there was a small charcoal grill and a larger sized gas grill onsite. The refrigerator was clean, the dishwasher worked well, and the stove looked fairly new. The only complaint here was the oven door is tricky to operate until you get used to it. The door it is split into two sections where you can open a small door, or you can open the full door for oven use. Upstairs in the loft you found the pool table, the shuffleboard table, there was also a closet that had many different games and puzzles. We had great use of the pool table and games during our stay. The AC worked great in the cabin and the hot tub was very relaxing. The back deck has a great side view of Grandfather Mountain. I would definitely stay here again.
