Leuk hotel op centrale locatie
Zeer ruime, schone kamer, eenvoudig ingericht, maar alles is er, ook warm water. Erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel, ze regelen ook dagtripjes en vervoer naar de volgende bestemming. Ligging perfect bij de markt en de rivierboulevard. Geen lift. Ontbijt oké.

Ok hotel
The hotel is in a nice area, and in a relatively good state. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooftop bar has good food and drinks. However, we did find small blood (?) stains in the sheets and hair in the shower. It is OK for the price though.

Ik verbleef maar 1 nachtje daar. In eerste instantie had ik een kingsize bed en uitzicht kamer maar die was overboekt. Ze hebben het goed gemaakt door een grote fruitmand neer te zetten op de kamer en extra ontbijt. Ach, het was niet super maar personeel is vriendelijk en de bedden lagen prima dus goed te doen voor die prijs.

Prima hotel, vlakbij centrum. Bijzonder aardige mensen, heel behulpzaam. Hebben zo genoten dat we ons verblijf van 3 nachten verlengd hebben met nog 2 nachten.

The other reviewers were right - the royal hotel was exactly the right place for us to stay. Really nice staff, Chhika the tuk tuk driver took us on a couple of fairly priced and interesting tours and the location is just right. We had a North facing room which was super quiet. The roof top bar was being renovated but we went up one evening and it was lovely. Sunrise cafe next door is amazing for breakfast, Nary cooking classes delicious and the deluxe room was large and comfy. Set the Aircon to 26 and low fan and you'll have comfy, restful Soros t. Thank team, we will be back!

Great location
Although it seems to be quite an old hotel it actually gives the place a certain charm. Location is very good, there is an excellent restaurant just over the road, very affordable too. The market is about one minute walk away and an abundance of coffee shops etc all around. The young man on reception is very knowledgeable and the young lady deserves a special mention for being so helpful and welcoming. You can rent a good bicycle from the hotel for $3 a day and it's very easy to book trips too.

I did not actually stay in Royal Hotel, as when I arrived they had no record of my booking made 2 months earlier (they claimed to be locked out of their Expedia account because they’d forgotten the password). They said they were full, and gave me a room in another hotel instead, a bit further out the of town. I was frustrated as I had chosen the hotel partly because of its location, and already arranged to be picked up from there for a tour early the next day. I was also a single female traveller, and didn’t much like being relocated to a hotel I knew nothing about (it was already night time). I ended up at the star hotel (apparently same owners) - it was fine given the price, but there were a number of frustrations e.g. no loo roll for the first day, air conditioning didn’t always work, and signs in your room warning you to put valuables in the hotel safe but reception staff unable to do this.

A good location.
The Royal is a large hotel on 4 floors with no lift. It is conveniently located near the market. The building and rooms are tired and dated but clean and comfortable. The bar/restaurant and jacuzzi on the roof were not open which was not in the description. It was value for money.

Avoid this hotel. Bad quality price and bad welcom
Booking not found. No welcome and no tourist information of what could be done during yiur visit...I missed the circus Phare...AC directly turned on your face during sleeping. Matress synthetic. Better to stay in other hotel where they have a real swimming pool and not only a Jacuzzi for better price.

- Es gibt kein wasser täglich,- man muss es expliziet einfordern. - es gibt nur ein neonlicht als zimmerbeleuchtung,- keine nachttischampen... - mein balkon war eigentlich nicht benutzbar, nur ca. 55cm breit und ca 1m lang da von der klimaanlage zugebaut - der balkon war dann natürlich auch nicht möbliert, wie eigentlich versprochen.. . - die " designerbadeartikel" sind ein shampoo und duschlotion in spendern, und mal nicht diese einwegverpackungen, = löblich, aber mit design hat das nicht's zu tun....:-) - trinken und essen ist auf den zimmern verboten! - aber es gibt einen wasserkocher....kurios... und deshalb gibt es wohl auch kein wasser wie versprochen, man dürfte es ja nur außerhalb des zimmers trinken....

Great value and location
I rated this hotel in the middle, only because my bathroom smelled sewery and the room is dated. The location is excellent , walking distance to the market, local restaurants, river walk and shops. It's not fancy, but was very clean It's a basic Khmer style guesthouse at a very good price point. I recommend it for a budget traveler and would stay again (but in a room with a better smelling bathroom!). Don't upgrade to balcony, there is nothing to see.

Personnel très accueillant et disponible pour des conseils de visite. L'hôtel est bien situé juste à côté du marcher. Le confort des chambres est modeste mais l'hôtel comprend un roof top très sympa avec jacuzzi et bar restaurant. Le restaurant n'est pas génial.

Front desk was friendly but quite a few of the staff spoke limited English so not easy to communicate. Rooftop bar and restaurant closed on the Saturday evening - we went about 20.00. Looked a little 'tired' in terms of style and modernisation but ok for the price.p

Room for improvement
If I don't get what I reserved and paid for, a hotel loses points right from the start. If I reserve a room with a king size bed I'm obviously not going to be happy with 2 singles. It doesn't make me feel respected and cared for as a client. There's no water in the room, no ashtray on the balcony, the bidet shower has no pressure, Wi-Fi is slow, and on. It's all a little shabby and in need of repairs and improvement. Not lovingly maintained and no attention to detail. That makes it all a little expensive at $20 a night. All that said, it is in a good location, the market is right outside and there are good restaurants within walking distance (one of them right across the street).

Lever ikke op til navnet.
Det mest elendige hotel på hele vores tur rundt i Østen. Kan absolut ikke anbefales til nogen. Ikke klargjort rum kl. 16.30 mangler hele vejen rundt ingen håndklæder ingen vand , lille seng, ingen balkon , ingen Remote til aircon.Vi havde købt billetter til Cirkus igennem og hørt om vi kunne nå at spise inden. Derfor bestilte vi to simple retter som vi desværre ikke nåede at få ,da vi gik efter 1 times ventetid. Værelset er det mest simple vi endnu har set. Kan absolut ikke anbefales !

Hjælpsomhed og hurtighed
Et fint værelse meget centralt til en meget Faro rable nedsat pris. Til 125 kr for et dobbeltværelse for en morgenmad, er det et rigtig ok hotel med en central. Fin og lynhurtig bistand, da vi meget sent fandt du af, at vi gerne se cirkusforestilling. De fiksede billetterne og en TUK-TUK på ingen tid og vupti afsted t forestillingen, der begyndte inden for et par minutter efter vi havde sat os på tilskuerrækkerne. Morgenmaden var ok, men intet særligt. Men som inkluderet i prisen - rigtig ok.

Fairly priced hotel
The room was ok..The Wi-Fi non existent -we used the bar/restaurant across the street Ac in room was dripping...and be careful in the shower, very slippery Staff was nice, we got picked up at the bus station in a 'free tuktuk...which of course was a driver who wanted business, We ended up using him 'Scorpio' was very good and we recommend him if you are in Battambang Nice roof top restaurant and bar with hottub make sure to go for happy hour One thing the bamboo train is no longer running, which was disappointing as this was the main reason we went there
