'Generally the rooms are to a high standard. The breakfasts are excellent, and the staff really friendly. Easy car parking. Only quibble is that we tried to book another 2 day stay, the system didn’t allow this - wanted 3 or more: this may vary with time of year.'

'Looking quite tired now in some of the rooms and have had to report maintenance requirements in different on my last 3 stays. Change of policy to not offer breakfast as part of a package without any change in price is sneaky and wasn't communicated at booking.'

'Lovely place ! The main pub/ hotel was beautifully furnished - airy and spacious . Room was good - except for the lack of natural light and due to the intense heat , we needed to keep the door open as the window was quite small . The bottle of cold water was welcome / staff were very good'

'Easy check-in, excellent staff, good bar area (again, excellent staff). Very good food, super local brews. Comfortable bed, great breakfast. Oh, and nice beer garden to boot. Would come here again and, if I lived locally, it would definitely be a regular haunt. Staff are superb.'

'It wasn't anything the website said. Didn't get a very good welcome. The outside signage said luxury bed and breakfast it wasn't, it was very basic. Room was small and hot, no window to open. No toiletries. The sink was tiny so couldn't fill the kettle.'

'Looking for a convenient location to stay while over watching the bikes at Oulton Park. Brilliant location and brilliant stay. Rooms were clean and spacious with a comfy bed. Staff were brilliant, both behind and front of bar. Ate there 2 nights, fantastic both times. Another cracking pub within walking distance. Continental breakfast spot on. Would I stay again, without a doubt. '

'A fantastic last minute find! Hawkstone Hall and Gardens is beautiful, with stunning grounds and lovely nearby walks. The service was flawless and the food delicious. We’ll definitely be back.'

'Kan een update gebruiken. WiFi is waardeloos. De gasten waren rustig maar de vloeren kraken aan alle kanten. Service is vriendelijk. Prima ontbijt, niet overdreven maar wel lekker.Echt Engels. SMETTELOOS SCHOON.Om door een ringetje te halen,en dat kan knap lastig zijn in een oud gebouw. '

'Large room. Good size bath. All very clean. Plenty of hot water. Shower gel etc very economy level. Handy for station. Buffet breakfast good drink choices. Really helpful staff went over and above when we lost something in the car park. Note. There is a parking charge (2 nights was £10). Many areas closed for refurbishment.'
