'A perfect lake retreat for a larger group. Excellent location on Smith Mountain Lake, including dock, paddle boards, heated pool & hot tub. The beds are the most comfortable sleeping mattresses I have ever slept on while traveling. The home is beautiful and the views amazing. Close to shopping, wineries and restaurants. Definitely is a true vacation.'

We rented a pontoon from The Dock nearby and were able to tie it up to the dock during our stay. The house is easy to get to and the instructions were clear. 'The way the owners have the property setup is fantastic. Big TVs, grill, fire ring, bar on dock with TV, etc. Whether you want to lounge in the shade, go out on the lake, or watch the big game it’s setup great. Quality bumpers and cleats on dock to protect your boat. Nice house. Comfortable beds. Nice bathrooms. We’ve been coming to SML for 20 years and this is the best house we have stayed in.'

We all have plenty of private space but also enjoy being together in the common areas, especially the upper deck. Personally, i enjoy a competitive game of ping pong with my husband each time. 'This home was wonderfully equipped, as a matter of fact they had nice bonuses such as soap, TP, shampoo available so you didn't need anything right away. The only drawback is if you have an issue with stairs. It is 90 stairs to the water. Very safe stairs so I used it as exercise but if you struggle with using stairs this may not be your place. The view is amazing and the home is very confortable'

'What an amazing stay. 1790s cabin restored in the 80s. Beautiful and still had all we needed for our trip to the lake. We visited historic Bedford during the day and spent our evenings in this beautiful historic cabin. Met the owner Dave and he gave us a full tour and history. He also gave us some great suggestions for places to eat and places to get great views of the area.'
