  • SPECIALE (NIET SCHOOLVAKANTIE) VERBLIJF 3 NACHTEN VIERDE NACHT GRATIS. Shizunami betekent stille golven en slechts een paar minuten wandelen brengt u naar de afgelegen oevers van Barragoot Lake met honderden zwarte zwanen ... perfect voor het bekijken van de zonsondergang. Blijf langs de rand van het meer en slinger je weg naar het prachtige strand van Barragoot. Ontspan op het dek terwijl je kijkt hoe de moederwallabies voor hun babyjoeys zorgen ... geniet van de omgeving van de Japans geïnspireerde tuin in de bush. Het pand is geïnspireerd op traditionele gebouwen in de regio Hokuriku in Japan en heeft een genkan -een typisch Japanse ingang met uitzicht op een binnenplaats. Het interieur is fris wit met grote uitgestrekte ramen die het buitenleven binnenhalen. Shizen betekent natuurlijk is het thema van het pand en het geluid van de natuur in overvloed.

Relaxing location

We had a very relaxing stay in the tranquil setting, surrounded by lots of birds, Kangeroos and Wallabies. Close enough to town and beaches.

Things didn't quite work out as planned however the outcome was amazing, Kathleen went above and beyond what was necessary and made us feel absolutely safe reassured that they would reverse the entire transaction, we did get to see this place and those images do no justice, it felt like we were in Japan somewhere it was amazing, thanks again for all your efforts.

Shizunami Retreat relaxation

We had a great 5 days at Shizunami Retreat. This as our 3rd time staying here. It is very relaxing and very quite. The weather was good, it's good to spend time in the, then going to the beach and Blue pool in Bermagui and at Cuttagee for long walks.

What an amazing stay.

Wow! We had an amazing time as a family. Staying at this very beautiful place, felt like a world away. The attention to detail was amazing. The owner was very kind and helpful with quick responses to communication. Very clean and comfortable. We would love to return!

Didn’t want to leave!

Absolutely loved our stay. Despite the rain, we had a beautiful time in the beautiful surroundings. Puzzles, wildlife, walks, relaxing, the sky, stars and air. The aesthetic design of the house was perfect and suited our needs. Kathleen was friendly and very accomodating, we didn’t want to leave. Who knows, maybe we will be neighbours some time in the future? Highly recommend!

Wrong House on arrival key to door was not where advertised. so we searched property and found conce

We searched property and found key for adjacent house which we now realise was probably used by owners when on site and not set up for us visitors, hence further comment may be inappropriate about state of property but we made most of opportunity and appreciated the remote location with abundance of wildlife but would have appreciated correct (North) house as it would be better prepared and better equipped (BBQ etc.) for our visit.

Beautiful setting and spacious interiors with lovely furnishings. Beds were comfortable for some and not so for others. Plenty of throws , blankets and homely touches. Apart from the quite basic cooking facilities everything was lovely, clean and nicely appointed. Unfortunately direction to the property and communication about the key pick up were confused by incorrect information on the Stayz profile / Stayz trip reminder emails. We would suggest a lock box at the premises would work better. Dropping the key back to town required me to make a detour and there was no house number on the letterbox. We would come again. Please note that the drive in is a bush track that is best suited to a 4xdrive or SUV and a bit adventurous with a normal sedan/ hatchback.

We booked for 8 nights with the understanding that the property is located 5min walk to the beach, has a kitchen with a refrigerator and good internet. We were disappointed to find out that Shizunami is in fact situated in an isolated location in a bush land. The only access in and out is on a rough, bumpy dirt track which is difficult for a low car. Kitchen has no hot plate or oven and only a small bar fridge which is inadequate for 8 nights stay. Also there is virtually no phone coverage and weak WiFi. We made the owner aware of the issues, but she was rude and unhelpful.

Serenity and seclusion

Delightful property in a secluded location, close to Bermagui. Restful, thoughtful, tasteful. Spacious rooms, comfortable furnishings. Loses half a star for limited kitchen resources (no hot plate, bar fridge only) and weak wi-fi, which is fine for a brief stay, but more of an issue with the 3-night minimum. Nevertheless we hope to be back!

Clean and peaceful!

Very happy with it. Very lucky that we didn't bring a sports sedan as I wouldn't have been comfortable bringing it up the driveway. Wifi code provided didn't work (which worked out really well for us). Loved the Maples and the Wallabies.

Peaceful location

A wonderful peaceful cottage in the bush land. Needs a bit of general and kitchen ammenities maintenance. Couldn’t get any phone coverage or guest wifi to work with given access codes. Access could prove tricky with a low car or with significant rainfall.
